My money is on the new guy: John Sasso. He just joined up and he was kicked out of the Dukakis '88 campaign for sliming Joe Biden. According to bloomberg:

"As the 1988 campaign unfolded, and more than a year before the general election, Sasso was forced out by Dukakis. The candidate learned that Sasso had leaked a videotape to reporters detailing how Senator Joseph Biden of Delaware, a rival for the Democratic nomination, had used passages from a speech by British Labor Party leader Neil Kinnock without attribution. Biden quit the race. "

Good call. I think they did it out of anger and desperation. They operated out of anger -- their judgement sucks. This Keystone Kops shady stunt really hurts them. What possibly could be the argument for electing Kerry NOW?

Yes but the evidence lies beneath Carvilles rock or Begalas slime pit.

It will be interesting to see what the next "Kerry campaign shakeup" looks like.
Coming soon, I'm sure.

It was a concerted & organized effort, combining forces of Soros / MoveOn.org with the media (Globe, CBS / 60 Minutes, NYT, Sid Blumenthal in print, etc.) with CNN and other friendlies picking up the rear in obviously calculated manner to gang up. (as all here know) they do this all the time, only this time they got a little to smart for themselves and have been caught. Heads all around must roll, from the network boardrooms, the DNC, Kerry & his campaign.

I suspect Carvale, the "ragin' Cajun". He has always struck me as more than a little unbalenced, and one would have to be crazy to try this with any expectation that it would not be detected.

The American Spectator (sorry, I don't know how to include the link) is quoted under another thread on FR called "Anatomy of a Forgery." They are saying that the memos surfaced within the Kerry campaign 6 weeks ago, delivered by "a retired military officer." That doesn't narrow it down much, but gives a possible start date.

I eagerly await Kerry's press conference, where he names the guilty party and regretfully announces the overzealous junior staffer has resigned.

"It was a hoax which unfortunately got out of hand."

I really hate to give Carville credit for anything.

But this whole scandal seems to be so poorly done that it couldn't possibly have come from Carville.

OTOH, we can't totally rule him out either.

You're assuming Carville is trying to help Kerry.

What makes you think it was the Kerry campaign that provided the documents? Those documents were so quickly and easily debunked, it seems more likely that the Bush campaign supplied them. That way, ALL the previous Natl Guard documentation could be called into question. Plus, they get a nice swipe at the liberal media in the process.
