I want to say it before Dan Blather does.

A few minutes ago I heard on the news that Ivan had damaged or flattened approximately 90% of the buildings in Jamaica. I guess the earthquake will get the rest of them.

We used to live in the Caymans.

They said we were having earthquakes all the time, but we never felt them, the explanation I got at the time was that the plates moved in a different way than the plates out west, for instance.

---------------

Did the earthquake hit before or after the hurricane? Earthquakes that hit an area that's been thoroughly soaked with water can be particularly disasterous.

Ivan hasn't hit Jamaica yet. That report referred to Grenada.

Not Jamaica, Grenada had 90% devastation. What worries me is that an earthquake could weaken enough foundations and a Cat 5 storm could do even more damage because of it.
