Did anybody catch the comments the other night on MSNBC made by JOHN EDWARDS " JOHN KERRY HAS THE SCHRAPNEL IN HIS BODY TO PROVE HE WON THE PURPLE HEART." Edwards made that comment the other night at the Midnight rally in Sprindfield Ohio where the two FLUSHERS tried to steal the headlines from the great speech that W gave at the convention. If he has the SCHRAPNEL to prove is being wounded then why doesn't he want to release his medical records. Seems pretty simple to me. Put up by releasing your records or fade away to obscurity.
Heck, just watch him go through the metal detector at the airport!
They can bearly find his heartbeat much less metal.......... I wish that I could find that speech as the Swifties need to make use of it. How can they continue to shoot themselves in the foot..............
Assuming your quote is accurate, it's interesting to note that Edwards said " Purple Heart" (singular).
metal sliver still embedded under the skin.... sort of like the lead pencil mark I still have in my forearm from a grade school accident...haha
..With a side order of rice.
I thought kerry had a grain of rice in his a$$.
But I would have thought the good media would have picked that up. I know the liberal media had their hearing aids turned down that day.
We're not going to be subjected to looking at his X-rays, are we?
Just show us the scars, John, show us the scars.
Only the lowly go through metal detectors. Don't you know who Mr. Heinz, um, Kerry is?
Somebody suggested Kerry drop his pants and SHOW America the scar on his butt from his shrapnel wound.
I'd LOVE to see him do that! At least five states would move to Bush if his 60-year-old bearnekkid ass showed up on national television. It would be all Leno and Letterman would talk about for two weeks.
Kerry can't have shrapnel in his body... he had an MRI in February and those are an absolute no-no when the patient has shrapnel... the procedure turns all metal objects in the room (and the patient) into projectiles.

The New York Sun March 30, 2004...
"In a conference call with reporters yesterday, Mr. Kerry's surgeon, Bertram Zarins, said the senator has a partial tear of the subscapularis tendon in his rotator cuff. Dr. Zarins said the injury stemmed from a mishap in January on the Kerry campaign bus in Iowa."
""The senator was walking down the aisle and the bus suddenly lurched. Senator Kerry grabbed a railing and wrenched his shoulder," Dr. Zarins said. Mr. Kerry later complained of shoulder pain. In February, he underwent an MRI test that revealed the tear."
"Dr. Zarins said he and Mr. Kerry initially opted for a wait-and-see approach regarding the shoulder, hoping that the pain would abate. It did not."

From "Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)" at http://www.spineuniverse.com/displayarticle.php/article248.html
"Patients need to tell their physician if their body contains any ferromagnetic objects such as shrapnel, a pacemaker, or aneurysm clips. These patients cannot undergo MRI study. Ferromagnetic objects are attracted by the MRI's magnet."
Shrapnel in your body doesn't prove you deserve a Purple Heart, especially not if you put it there yourself while no one was shooting at you.
Exactly. The debate isn't about whether or not he was injured by schrapnel. The debate is about whether or not he overstated the injuries and incidents in order to receive medals. Did he overplay his role and underplay the role of others? Did he write up his own reports? Did he falsify some of those reports and claim he was injured by enemy fire when he really was injured by his own carelessness?
Even more important, did he do the same sort of inflating, distorting, and creating of "facts" after the war when he testified against his fellow soldiers? These things matter NOW, since he is campaigning to be commander-in-chief.
This is supposed to be either a leg wound for his second PH, which some suggest was also clumsily self-inflicted, or the third when perhaps both he AND Rassman partly blew up themselves and the rice (what DID Rassman get a PH for on 13 MAR?). If the MRI was from the waist down, even then it might indicate only that it might not be metal, or if metal that it is a small sliver, completely secured by surrounding tissue.
I'd like a few days advanced warning to begin my fast.
Sure he can - rice isn't magnetic. haha
