Sorry in advance to anyone who's upset by this "vanity" post. (Is that what this is called? Because I've never done one of these.) Anyway...
Is it just me, or are we hearing next to NOTHING about how this convention is being received by the folks in flyover country? I seem to recall, at conventions past, that every morning brought new polls and analysis. Should I assume that this information is out there -- but it's being stifled because it reflects positively in George W's favor? Anyone have any thoughts?

has not seen the numbers for the others.

They are still working on the spin.
Whenever they announce them, you can bet they'll say there's no "bump".
The polls must reflect that the Republican National Convention is clobbering the Demcratic ratings, therefore the maistream media will ignore it. (Sort of like the Boston Globe ignoring Zell Miller's speech last night.)
Since Bush now leads 49% to 45% in the daily Rasmussen poll, it has been EXTREMELY quiet!
I think it was just Rasmussen who was releasing a daily poll during the DNC and we were reacting with glee as Kerry's numbers fell as the convention went on.
It was after the last day of the DNC we got all the polls.
There have been Rasmussen threads floating about. Bush is up 4 through today, which reflects Guliani and Arnie's speech and some of Zell's.
Wait till tomorrow night..
I agree. We even had some peeks into the polls during the DNC a month ago. Not sure what's going on. But looking at one poll from Arg and extrapolating from their past difference with gallup, once could extrapolate a gain of 12-15% points for Bush. We'll see.
To the extent it is of any interest, there was a "focus group" of "undecided, democratic and republican" voters on MSNBC last night with that fellow Frank Luntz. They reacted favorably to Zell and, when asked why, they said, "because he is a Democrat" - which I suppose they believed bolstered his credibility. At the end, Luntz asked the 17 people there if the speeches last night made them more likely to vote Republican and 11 answered, "yes."

Usually there are at least 10 polls telling me NOTHING.
But none today!
Me thinks W has done scared off those rats!
BTW the only poll that counts is on NOV 2nd. When the votes are counted.
Otherwise is total speculation.
Republicans do not need polls.
The dems do need them. They prop up their talking points.
You probably won't here of any polls from the alphabet networks until they can find a way to bring them down.
But why rely on them anyway? Just do a search on the internet or a trusted polling site.

I bet you can count on a Gallup poll being released on Monday afternoon.
A whole slew of polls will be released early next week as pollsters go to work Friday Saturday and Sunday after the President's speech.
Actually, it does not cover Zell's speech. This poll was two-thirds Monday and one-half Tuesday. This also looks like registered votes, not likely voters. This extrapolates to a 12-15% gain for Bush after all the speeches are over.
