I am an HTML idiot who goes to HTML Bootcamp once a week

Can someone explain how to post an html image.
HTML bootcamp is fantastic, but if he is like me, it might take several days to get it right.

Bookmark this for future reference. It has been a life saver for me:

Bump to see if anyone hosts the file.

I'm guessing though if it's secured via password to only "subscribing institutions", it might be a violation of some law to post it for public consumption.

If this is the case, or if you feel as if no one wants to host it for other reasons, could you send me a FReepmail and I'll give you my e-mail address so you could send me a copy of it? I'd like to see it just out of curiousity.

Thanks (and welcome to FR),

You can, by the way, ask the admin mods to remove threads or individual posts if you change your mind about posting items- I've used that option when I made a mistake or said something too harsh in an argument. You might want to do that since you accidently came across the material while on your university's login, and I'm not sure if the university would appreciate that or not. You can do that by posting a message using the "abuse" link under the article and telling the moderator what you want done.(At least it isn't a Washington Post article- they get touchy if we post whole Washpo articles.) ;o)

How to post an image:

Just find the image's location and type in this :

<img src = "http://somewebsite/somefile/image.jpg">

You find the image's address "http://somewebsite/somefile/image.jpg" by right-clicking on the image, selecting "properties" and copying the source.

Of course, the image actually has to be up on a web site in the first place. An image that is just on your computer won't work.

If the pdf is in a recent version of Adobe Acrobat, you should be able to cut and paste text.

Glad to be here - this forum is fantastic - AND addictive.

Welcome to FR, and if you think it's good now be sure to check in tonight during Bush's speech.

And any Breaking news story, FR has more news than the "news" most times.

This makes it all the more possible that Kerry forged a signature for his medals.

BTW I posted some information on the National Security Archive (the coproducers of the website being linked) here:

Sandy Berger still under investigation

The National Security Archive is also linked to Peter Kornbluh, Kerry's associate from the Institute for Policy Studies. They've edited a number of declassified documents related to US Latin American policy re: Cuban Missile Crisis, Pinochet, Sandinistas, etc. See for instance:

Chile Documentation Project: Peter Kornbluh, Director

It was also Kornbluh who arranged Kerry's trip to meet Ortega in 1984.

Thank YOU. Especially liked:

They arrived in the Nicaraguan capital late on April 18 for two days of scheduled talks with Marxist officials. On the eve of his meeting with Ortega, Kerry told the Boston Globe correspondent in Managua that the talks would "provide them [Kerry and Harkin] with enough information to sway congressional votes on the issue of aid to antigovernment rebels."

In an interview with the Globe, Harkin said that AS VIETNAM VETERANS he and Kerry "bring perspective to the situation here in Central America that perhaps others not involved in the Vietnam War might not have."

My, my, my.

I have Adobe Reader 6.0. In that there's a "Select Text Tool" icon in the toolbar. If you click on it, it creates a "highlighted" box that you can draw around the text you want to select. Drag the mouse to put the box around the text you want, then copy the text either using "Edit--->Copy" or right-click and "Copy to Clipboard". You can also right-click "Select All Text". Note that this will only work with text that was typed in, not scanned text or images.

Yup, so addictive the site's owner has a warning posted at the front door.

Jump right in: Most of the visitors to the Free Republic web site are attracted to our very popular (and, warning: addictive) conservative forum ...

Most of us blew right by that one. It's always the other guy who gets hoooked, right?

Welcome! Enjoy.

To: Protect the Bill of Rights

I'm not sure I'm reading your post at 22 correctly. If you desire the info on how to post a photo onto a FR thread and it has already been posted on the Internet somewhere, this is how.

Right-click the photo
Select Properties
Copy the Address URL
Go to Post Reply window in FR
Type this, leaving out the spaces after the < and before the > (the carats activate the HTML)
< img src="PasteYourURLHere" >
DO leave the space between IMG and SRC (stands for Image Source, if that helps you to remember)
PREVIEW

If all went well and you're accessing a photo that can be linked to an external (FR) source, you'll see it in the Preview screen.

If you have a photo on your hard drive, it has to be uploaded to a web storage space such as http://www.photobucket.com first, and then linked, as per above.

Thanks for the ping, Piasa.

I heard a rumor today that Kerry is coming to speak at Simms Park in New Port Richey. Have you heard anything about this?
