Actor Ron Silver, addressing the Pro-USA and pro-troops rally in Washington DC today and responding to his introduction as a "prominent liberal" said "I think you've seen the end of my days as liberal."
"Peace at what risk? Peace on whose terms? Peace for how long?" he went on. "There are worse things than war. People who think nothing is worth a war is worse." The enthusiastic crowd cheered as Silver evoked Elie Wiesel and the lessons learned through the horrors of Nazi Germany, enunciating the reasons for America's humanitarian intervention in Iraq.
Following Silver, Linda Chavez remarked that she herself was a former liberal, and invited Silver to join the conservative ranks. "We ought to have a support group for ex-liberals," she said, laughing.
Silver was a dedicated Clintonite but has demonstrated courage in supporting Bush despite the inevitable backlash he's going to
receive in Hollywood.
Ron Silver is a damn smart guy. Hollywood is not going to going to outfox him one bit. He still will get work wherever and whenever he wants. And....if not, this is a very gifted and talented man. He could succeed in just about anything he decides to undertake.
Isn't that Mc Carthyism?
He can play Jesus in Passion II !
Ron will end up in Mel Gibson project for ICON and both will make HollyRood eat their words and their blacklist.

*Isn't that Mc Carthyism?*
Indeed it is. A new blacklist. The best thing to do is to write email to www.dga.org, www.wga.org, www.sag.org and let them know that free speach should not be trashed. These organizations are slow to recognize the chilling of free speach although they should be the first to.
My favorite Silver movie is "Enemies, a Love Story". An amazing film, on many critics lists of 10 best films of the '80's.
Sooooo Mc Carthy was right and they just proved his point.
As far as I'm concerned "McCarthysim" was a tongue in cheek reference to Marxism hypocritically coming from the right. The pendulum has swung and marxist blacklisting is back in vogue.
