This afternoon at about 6:30, John O'Neill was interviewed by local guy Dom Giordano (1210AM - Philadelphia) and he was OUTSTANDING! The Swift Boat Vets are NOT backing down one iota. John thoroughly debunked the Washington Post (and other) hit pieces with stone cold facts. He also pointed out the various lies that Kerry has been caught in and which were even ACKNOWLEDGED by the Washington Post. John also took some calls and was praised by everyone, including a couple of Vietnam vets who called into the show.
One caller, a Vietnam vet, said that he had injured himself in Vietnam ("a self-inflicted wound") by dropping an 8mm round on his hand and he would have laughed if anybody told him to put in for a Purple Heart. Apparently, it wasn't too difficult to get one. John joked that guys in his unit were afraid to go shave because they might cut themselves and end up with a Purple Heart.
There was also a lot of talk about the difficulty in finding 'Unfit for Command' at bookstores. For the most part this appears to be the result of a GROSS UNDERESTIMATE of how much DEMAND there would be for the book by the publisher, Regnery.
Prior to John, Dom interviewed a Vietnam POW (I forget the name - Gaitlan?) who talked about how Kerry's 1971 Senate testimony WAS USED BY THE ENEMY captors to intimidate and demoralize POWs.
It was quite an afternoon of compelling radio, let me tell you. If this type of talk radio is going on around the nation, Kerry is in big, big trouble.
This is outstanding!

bump.

He was supposed to be on the Savage Nation also, but was a no show. They claimed they didn't know where he was.
I take it he is a conservative talk show host in Philly. How do you get the word out to the moderates and liberals there?

People are wondering why 250 Swift Boat Vets are against John Kerry and yet his crew is sticking by him like glue.
I thought about it but I probably have no right to bring this up since I am not a combat veteran. Anyway let me run this by you.
Remember when John Kerry testified before Congress? Saying under oath and without subpoena that he had committed atrocities in Viet nam, That he had shot women and kids with a 50 caliber machine gun and burned villages.. John Kerry if he did the things he swore that he did was not alone when he did them. His crew was there with him , They too would have committed these atrocities. They have to back Kerry or he has them over a barrel.
I am not saying this is why they stick with him in his stories, but it is something to think about isnt it?
But do they all stick by Kerrys statement to the Congress that he committed atrocities. If Kerry was lying about that , then he painted them with the same brush he painted himself with.
He's on with Jim Bohannon now. There's a thread running....
What members of his crew (on his boat) supports him. I understand there was possibility 2. Does anybody know?
I haven't heard a thing to dispute this. It's the medals and the early out and the Senate testimony.
True, it makes him a poor commander as far as other commanders were concerned, but I have not heard anywhere where he was not a good skipper to his crew. No reason for his crew not to like him.
John Kerry has been able to convince about 13 men who served on Swift boats in the Mekong Delta to support him, 7 or 8 of whom were at various times crew members on his own 6-man boat. Those are the men the Kerry campaign so prominently featured at the Democratic Convention. The photograph we have posted at SwiftVets.com shows Kerry with 19 of his fellow Swift boat OICs (Officers In Charge) in Coastal Division 11. Four OICs were not present for the photograph. Only one of his 23 fellow OICs from Coastal Division 11 supports John Kerry.
Overall, more than 250 Swift boat veterans are on the record questioning Kerry's fitness to serve as Commander-in-Chief. That list includes his entire chain of command -- every single officer Kerry served under in Vietnam. The Kerry game plan is to ignore all this and pretend that the 13 veterans his campaign jets around the country and puts up in 5-star hotels really represent the truth about his short, controversial combat tour.
The Swift boats fought in groups, so the other OICs who fought alongside Kerry know him well and can accurately describe what he did and did not do. In many cases Kerry's fellow OICs had a better perspective than his own crew members, since the latter had no way to determine whether he was following orders and how well he worked with his peers.

Yes, Dom is mostly conservative. He is a very good talk show host. Been around a long time.
The local talk radio station, "The Big Talker" 1210AM, is a healthy blowtorch and is basically the only game in town for (non-sports) talk radio. So it is as effective as anything can be in the Philly area for "getting the word out" to moderates and liberals. The Philadelphia Inquirer (the only real newspaper in town) is a hopeless liberal mouthpiece for the DNC, but fortunately the New York Post is readily available at every Wawa and 7-11. The NY Post actually has a pretty good circulation in the area. It is the paper I pick up every day.
Thanks for the report.
