What A Long Week (For Gun Grabbers)
KOMO4NEWS ^ | August 16, 2004 | Ken Schram

Posted on 08/18/2004 12:09:13 PM PDT by TERMINATTOR

SEATTLE - I was only gone a week.

It seemed like such a brief time, until I started catching up on things.

There was Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels thinking he could starve the homeless into submission by outlawing an evening feeding program.

Someone must've explained what a dumbass he looked like because the mayor suddenly changed his mind.

Meanwhile, tent city packed up and moved from Bothell to Woodinville.

Some Greg Nickels wannabes went to court to try and block that move, claiming the city made a "rash" decision to allow the encampment on public land.

They lost the legal fight, leaving them to go cry on the shoulders of Bothell residents.

Then there are the gun freaks who have their cylinders spinning.

A woman whose husband killed their grandson before then killing himself has suggested a 5-day waiting period for handgun purchases should be extended to include those guns purchased from private sellers.

Of course 2nd Amendment freaks think that's unconstitutional.

But then those kind of people think .38 caliber pistols make great baby shower gifts.

I think changing the law should be a no-brainer, which - given our legislature and the NRA - means that's not likely.

All in all, the week was a lot longer than I first thought.

Given your legislature? I thought Warshington was California Lite when it came to its government.

What is the makeup of its legislature?

Never been to a baby shower. But pocket pistols make great Christmas stocking stuffers.

Sheesh!

Everybody knows a .410 shotgun makes a much better "starter piece."

.38 caliber...get a life.

There is a "no-brainer" in this story... can anyone tell me where "he" is?

Well, now that you mention it... ;0)

By the way, Ken - when are YOU having your baby shower? The reason I ask is because You're a "mother", too...

Ken Schram is probably the most whiney, pants-pissing, knee-jerk idiots in the local media... bar none.

I don't recall the makeup of the House, but I believe we have a Republican Majority in the State Senate...

Ken S is the "no-brainer."

I have seen Ken up close and personal, as his son played on some of the same sports teams as my sons. During little league games he would really hoot and holler and generally make an a*s out of himself. His commentaries aren't much different.

He is a liberal who wears his heart on his sleeve and is more concerned about feelings than reality. Considering the audience in Seattle, that is about what is required to rise to the near the top of the "media personality" cult in the area.

Considering everything, I thought for sure he would bring up the local president of Cease-fire (a US Attorney) who was shot while working in his home. Oh course if he did, he might have to discuss that one of the largest gun collectors groups in the state just ran a full page ad asking for information about the murder weapon in their newsletter. But hey, it is important in Seattle to be "anti-gun."

Let's just make murder illegal....then everything will be ok.

It's even more important to be "Anti-Ken". I'm on Schrams' s**t-list, and proud of it ;0)

Yeah. You've got a 25 to 24 advantage in the Senate.

RATS have a 52 to 46 advantage in your House.

There was Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels thinking he could starve the homeless into submission by outlawing an evening feeding program.

The little detail Ken forgot was that he wasn't outlawing the program - merely limiting the hours, because with the homeless stabbing each other at the evening feeding time, it was making the city park (where the freebies are handed out) unsafe for everyone else...

But, Ken Schram has never met an ommission of important facts he didn't like...

".38 caliber pistols make great baby shower gifts."

Sounds good to me! My husband got me a Ruger .22 single six revolver for my birthday last year, and a beautiful .41 S&W revolver for Christmas. He kinda disappointed me on Valenine's day though, and just gave me a diamond necklace. I had been wanting a Kimber Eclipse target pistol. Oh, well. Christmas is coming up again! Hope springs eternal...

Sorry Schram, even the authors of the Washington constitution are smarter than you:

SECTION 24 RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS.
The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself, or the state, shall not be impaired, but nothing in this Section shall be construed as authorizing individuals or corporations to organize, maintain or employ an armed body of men.

I can think of a less appropiate baby shower gift than a .38. Penetration without stopping power makes for a bad combination when there is a baby in the house. A scattergun is a much more appropriate choice for the new parents, IMHO.

Dear Ken,

Loved your rant. Sounds like you need a new teething ring.

I did want to let you know that, when you see a "2nd Amendment freak", you kick their ass.

Sincerely,

Joe Brower

NAA .22 Short Mini-Revolver
Actual Size

Makes a perfect stocking stuffer. Also nice for belt buckles, necklaces and perhaps even ghetto ear rings. Mine lives quite comfortably concealed inside a empty package of cigarettes.
