NPR: Human Plant Life Is Sacred

Here's a fitting juxtaposition of two stories NPR has run (so far) this week on "Morning Edition". The first, which ran on Monday, about "stem cell research", trumpeted science the technology industry's latest triumph: feeding embryonic stem cells with human placenta cells (instead of the industry standard of mouse skin cells). From such grisly irony new lines of stem cells have been produced, but, alas, these new lines will never receive federal funding (until Kerry is elected) because Bush decided on his own that killing human beings for personal gain or profit is murder. Although they didn't even imply that these "stem cells" were culled from human beings who had been destroyed (of course they didn't mention that to harvest embryonic stem cells you need to kill the person they belong to). Nor did the report even mention adult stem cells, which have been shown to be as effective as embryonic stem cells and don't result in killing anyone. The interviews in this story are positively ghoulish.

Compare this "Health" story to one which ran this morning about an Alaskan weed known as "Devil's Club". Apparently the "First Peoples" in the area consider this plant to have great medicinal purposes, but are reluctant to share their knowledge of the plant. The NPR story uses the word "sacred" multiple times to describe the plant and even uses the phrase "you don't harvest devil's club, you apologize for taking it" in the course of the story.

So the big ethical dilemma here is not is it permissible to slaughter baby persons to advance medical goals but can a weed be harvested over the objections of "First Peoples" to advance medical goals.

Good to see NPR has their priorities straight.

I like to kill weeds. I pull up and kill the garden plants when I'm done using them. I kill trees to keep me warm.
I kill animals and eat them. I sell animals to be eaten by others.
I do these things because I'm a human. It's my place in the universe.

I do not harm other humans, unless they're liberals (and that's just a fun hobby. Heh, heh, heh!), or terrorist out to kill me.
I'm tough, but I'm fair.

And let's not even get on the subject of "Frankenfoods". Tinkering around with human genes is OK, but don't touch that corn!

I don't like eating meat anymore. I'm thinking of eating a vegan diet. I'll be a plant mass murderer. In fact, I ate half a papaya in cold blood today.

I used to wonder why they are so hep on getting embryonic stem cells, but now I think I know. I think they want to create an industry for these things so they can increase the number of abortions performed in this country and continue to profit off of poor women who may not be that bright and who make mistakes.

I hope this government-funded, authoritative arbiter of morality will clear up the
"break the egg of a bird on the Endagered Species List, go to jail" vs.
"Abort a human fetus, get praise from NOW" conundrum.

In 1973 two things happened:

1. The Endangered Species Act was enacted where animals, trees and scum in rain puddles became protected under law.

2. Roe vs. Wade where 9 mortals, allowed it to be made possible for Humanity to slaughter, burn, aspirate and sever Human Babies, created in God's image and likeness. Since then, humanity, and the USA,  spiraled in a downward trend.

Touch a turtle egg or its nest, Canadian goose or a spotted OWL and get a yr. in jail and a $50K fine, and don't cut down certain trees or fill in that puddle! abort a child, get paid $750.00. And we wonder why there is NO respect for HUMAN life created in God's image.

This is why we need to inculcate a culture of life in our society in general and in churches and schools (starting in kindergarten) . People tend to think of children as disposable items.

A pro-life education Program

It's a grievous sin that animals and turtle eggs are afforded more protections and rights than a human fetus and baby created in God's Image with a soul.

Genesis 9:3
Every creature that is alive shall be yours to eat; I give them all to you as I did the green plants.

Man:
Kill the humans (abortion) and save the Bears, the spotted owls, the Canadian Geese and the whales and don't crack that turtle egg!!

You can get fined up to $10,000 for messing with those eggs and baby-killing physicians get paid government and private money $$$ to kill humans! Go figure.

Science and the ESA

The Govt. recognizes that a fertilized egg from an animal is "alive" and protected by LAW (The Endangered Species Act of 1973) and when an "alive" person created in God's image is growing and living in his mother, he's termed and given the moniker of just a blob of "unlive" protoplasm or tissue which can be aspirated if it's the mother's "choice" to do so with no protections under the 5th and 14th Amendments to the Constitution.

But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for EVERY careless word they have spoken."--Jesus (Matt. 12:36)

In Florida, women dying in bed have less rights than turtle eggs! (FL Law 370, US ESA of 1973)

A few years ago, I made a smart-a$$ed comment about animal rights advocates extending "rights" to plants. Around the same time, I was wisecracking about body piercing freaks going so far as to pierce both buttocks with steel rods.

Well, first came the buttock-piercings, and now come the plant-rights weirdos

Next, we'll be hearing about people advocating the end of antiseptics because they interfere with bacterial rights.

I can picture it - some filthy hippy dying from infection while singing of the glory of the rights of germs to turn his internals to toxic goo, and the horrible spectacle being broadcast on TV with Katie Couric tearfully praising the schmuck for his courageous stand.

I only hope I'm wrong this time, but I seriously doubt it.
