(New Haven-WTNH, Aug. 9, 2004 11:25 AM) _ New Haven police are searching for the person who's been shooting off BBs or pellets at an area golf course.
One person was taken to the hospital Sunday after being shot while on the green of the city's Alling Memorial Golf Course.
Police say it was the second report in a week of a victim being shot with a pellet or BB while on the course.

First we hear of cars being shot at by BB's on I-91, but that story thread has disappeared from the news. Now this.
Fore!

Juvenile and assinine.
And a missed opportunity for a good prank. Wait 'til their absorbed in concentration, lining up that crucial putt, then *hit the ball*.

As kids we used to have BB gun fights all the time. They would not break the skin but would sting and raise a welt. We learned real quick to duck!
Are today's BB guns more powerful or are the fright mongers trying to make hay with this claim?

Kids. Good, healthy fun.
Hopefully, they'll be snagged by one of the golfers and beaten into a frothy pulp.
Lessons learned.

CCWs are "shall-issue" in Connecticut. I have one. The golfers in Connecticut should get them also.

We live on a golf course (not in New Haven).
It's probably self defense from the neighbors near the golf course, LOL.
I can't tell you how many times we've been in the yard and had a ball whiz past our ears, bounce then hit someone, break a window in the car, or put a nice ding in the roof of the car.
There are some pretty bad golfers out there, and it seems to me that a golf ball is much more of a weapon than a BB.

Actually, didn't I read somewhere that golf courses were being ... oh, forget it.
