A who's who of top popular musicians will take to the stage in Pittsburgh and cities in eight other presidential battleground states beginning the first week of October. Their goal? "We're trying to put forward a group of progressive ideals and change the administration in the White House," said Bruce Springsteen, one of the acts.
Ah, yes, "progressive ideals." For those of you not up on the latest liberal nomenclature, that's the new phraseology of choice for contemporary enlightened thinkers advocating that tried and failed political philosophy previously known as socialism.
Organizers of the "Vote for a Change" tour are planning nearly three dozen shows in more than two dozen cities beginning Oct. 1. James Taylor and the Dixie Chicks are among those scheduled to perform in Pittsburgh. Mr. Springsteen will headline a show in Philadelphia. Promoters are hoping millions of dollars will be raised.
America Coming Together, or ACT, is organizing the series of shows. It hopes to get out the vote in states they believe are critical to the success of Democrat presidential nominee John Kerry and crucial to the demise of President George Bush.
ACT is one of those boilerplate "sheeple" groups that slavishly follow the lead of the Democratic National Committee and the rich leftists -- they'd be "excessively rich" if conservative -- who are utilizing provisions of the new campaign finance "reform" law to promote their case. MoveOnPAC, the political arm of the supposedly apolitical MoveOn.org will "present" the shows.
All bill themselves as humble, grassroots organizations, raising money from the oppressed little guy and gal who are tired of the big money -- always conservative big money -- in politics.

Great article. I used to love Springsteen but he's gone way over the edge. Why doesn't he give away all of his money and shuddap.
I concur.
CAMPAINING FOR THE MARX
I get up in the Morning
and I ain't got nothing truthful to say
I come home in the evening
I go to bed having lied to them all day
I ain't nothing but two-faced
Man I'm just two-faced and full of myself
Hey Michael Moore, I could use just a little help
I can't win this election
I cant win this election with the truth
I need evil deception injection
cause you know Im campaigning for the MARX
My message keeps getting cloudy
cause I use my Nam record all over the place
I check my look in the mirror
I paid a lot for my clothes, my hair, my face
Man I ain't getting nowhere
There was no bump from my convention speech
There's something happening somewhere
maybe I should use the Howard Dean screech
I can't win this election
I cant win this election with the truth
I need evil deception injection
cause you know Im campaigning for the MARX

ping!
I'd like to take this opportunity to send a hearty, Cheney-style GFY out to the Boss and his ilk.
How ironic is it that the man whose best-selling recording, "Born in the USA" is about the crappy treatment that Vietnam vets received upon returning to the USA, is now out campaigning for the man responsible for the mentality that led to that treatment?
ALLLLRIIIIGHT!!! Great read!
I wonder how many sheeple would continue to support Comrades Kerry/Edwards if they knew how socialistic they really are....
Springsteen isn't very smart. He is a loser from Freehold, NJ who developed a musical following and struck it rich. Now that he is super wealthy, he wants everyone to do what he says.
He should write a song about irony. He owns (at least) three mansions (Rumson NJ, Colts Neck NJ and Beverly Hills CA). What is ironic is that he wants us all to pay higher taxes and give it to the needy, yet the money he spends on his mansions could house and feed a large number of poor families for a year. Why doesn't he sell one of the houses and do this? Because he wants US (those of us who make less than $500,000 per year) to do it. He spent a huge amount of money building an earthen wall to protect his son from being kidnapped (and getting privacy) - why didn't he spend it on programs he thinks are so important? Why does he want to make US do what he personally is unwilling to do?
They are all hyopcrites.
Let your guitar do the talkin' Bruce, otherwise shut the fu*k up, you washed up has-been idiot.
Please be responsible when visiting.
Imho, "The Boss" has always been a bust. Overated.
And then introduce a new member in the strings section . . .

He`s practicing the liberal religious philosophy; Hypocrisy.
How about Massachussets? In Massachussets there is a thing that allows you to pay more taxes than you need to if you want . Guess who never does? Massachussets residents John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, and Ben Affleck. Yet here they are screaming just about every day that the rich shouldn`t get tax cuts. Well who said you they need to take tax cuts? Massachussets allows you to pay as much taxes as you want. So why don`t they? It called hypocrisy.

Ping on #4 - Brucie Springsteen and his band of dogs hump for Kerry - ping.
Yeah, he belongs to that "Brian Adams" club...Guys who had one or two mediocre hits 25 years ago and they won`t get off the stage.
"Bush is a racist"--Danny Glover
"I think America has no experience with terrorism or even with war. In Europe, we know a little bit more about these things." --Peter Gabriel
"As dumb as this administration is, they don't look ahead. They don't know where any countries are...They don't really know much about anything."
"Now you have people [in Washington] who have no interest in the country at all. They're interested in their companies, their corporations grabbing Caspian oil."-- Gore Vidal
In my country the atmosphere is poisoned. Unbreathable for those of us who are not on the right. So thank you for inviting me to this festival and allowing me to leave there for a few days. -- Jessica Lange
"So when I see the American flag, I go, 'Oh my God, you're insulting me.'"
"'We're here, we're queer!' -- that's what makes my heart swell. Not the flag, but a gay naked man or woman burning the flag. I get choked up with pride." -- Janeanne Garofalo
"I believe he thinks this [war against Iraq] is a war that can be won, but there is no such thing anymore...We can't beat anyone anymore" -- George Clooney (btw, guess who bought John Kerry's mansion in Italy for $9 Million?)
"[Bush is a] sad figure: not too well educated, who doesn't get out of America much. He's leading the country towards fascism... he wouldn't understand the word fascism anyway." --Larry Hagman
"It is inappropriate for the [Bush] administration to trump up a case in which we are ballyhooed into war."
But, a few years earlier:
"...the bottom line is that I think its appropriate for the international community in situations like this to intervene [in Kosovo]. I am in favor of an intervention. On some level you have to say that at least somebody [Clinton] is doing something." -- Mike Farrell
And in the eyes of these leftists, it was all Nixon's war and John Kerry was responsible for the peace. [spit blood]
