Simpsons to Indoctrinate Kids With Homosexual Marriage - Write Advertisers
Clear Channel Radio, BBC radio, Yahoo News ^ | Aug. 8, 2004 | Yomin Postelnik

The Simpsons has announced plans to feature a same sex "marriage." I think we can all agree that showing this kind of stuff to kids only encourages a lifestyle that is most unhealthy. Showing any sexuality to kids promotes promiscuity in grade school children and this goes a step further.

Children should receive their moral education from parents, not from Hollywood. Young minds are extremely impressionable and putting this stuff in a cartoon show targets children by seeking to change their understanding of normal and healthy, something which needs to be left to parents. What's even more dangerous is that one reason why society never saw fit to introduce sexuality to children, never mind constant bombardment of children with sexual innuendo as Hollywood sees fit to do today, is that kids often experiment with new things introduced to them. Thanks to Hollywood 5th graders are now experimenting with all kinds of deplorable things and we can only imagine how these children will grow up and what kind of committed parents or spouses they will be. I can guarantee one thing, exposing them to same sex marriage in cartoon shows won't help.

TV execs aren't about to listen. They have only shown disdain for family values. Whether it comes out in their insistence of producing R rated movies when a few minors changes would give the movie a PG rating and hundreds of thousands of more viewers or whether it comes out in planning cartoon stunts like turning The Simpsons into a political advertisement for same sex marriage, the contempt they hold for traditional values or just plain sanity is self evident and blatantly apparent. The only way to take a page out of the playbook of the leftist loons who went all out to stop Dr. Laura. Just a page mid you, not the whole nine-yards of character assassination, demonetization and the whole sickening display they put on.

If we want to save our kids and prevent this nonsense from being aired we must go to the advertisers. Letters from consumers are most effective. Write how you feel but at least copy this, insert the name of the advertiser and mail to them. Please. This can make a difference and prevent the subjection of countless kids to this kind of garbage which can have noxious and lifelong effects. It's up to us.

Dear (name of advertiser),

I understand that your company is an advertiser on The Simpsons. Due to the recent decision of their producers to expose children to same sex marriage, my family will no longer patronize their sponsors.

Children are extremely impressionable and your sponsorship of such shows only promotes their exposure to unhealthy practices and allows Hollywood to replace parents as the moral compasses of their children.

My family is outraged, and like many others, will not forget this. We will not spend one dollar on products from any company which promotes this kind of recklessness. We urge you to cancel your advertising sponsorship of this show which has now gone one step too far. Should your company choose to enable Hollywood to impose its morals on our children, we will make it a point of making sure that your company will receive no more business from us. We hope that it does not come to this but should you continue to sponsor this kind of outrageous material we can guarantee you that we will not be quick to forget.

Signed,

(your name)

According to one of their own cast members (voice-over star) seems like they're about to fissile out. Well let's show them that this won't help before all kinds of shows start doing stuff like this. see http://breakingnews.iol.ie/entertainment/story.asp?j=113200040&p=yy3zxx746

If we don't act now this will only grow and we will be responsible for sitting back as society is destroyed.

Can someone get a list of sponsors?

Since when is "The Simpsons" a kids program? Sure, it's animated, but it was never designed to be a kids program - and, if I had any kids, they would not be allowed to watch it. I don't watch it myself.

Not a big surprise. Several of the Simpson writers are from MA.

Matt Groening is making a big mistake if he crosses this line on "The Simpsons."

There are families who've watched his show for a decade. To foist this garbage off as entertainment instead of gay mafia propaganda is a lie.

Marge would be ashamed of him.

Since we don't know what the theme will be how can we know it will promote same sex marriage? Besides, it's not really a kids program, and the only program I know of that pokes fun at both the left and the right. In fact, I've seen more pokes at the left than the right on the SIMPSONS.

Hi,

It's not a kid's program per se, but a large part of the audience is children. When I have my own, they won't be watching it either, but literally millions of kids are watching it on at least a somewhat frequent basis.

Hi,

It's true that they usually are pretty even handed in their punches. About a month ago I heard a local talk show host describing a recent program which was almost completely skewed to the left, but this may be an exception. What they're doing now goes too far. They've announced that it will be featured in a positive light. The point being to depict something that is current in Massachusetts society. It's getting tones of media coverage.
In the entertainment industry it's ok to throw light-hearted punches at both sides of the political aisle butit's never alright to evenmildly attack a dominant social issue the left has taken on as their "cause celebre." I checked this out before posting to make sure I wasn't crying wolf. It's a serious issue and can only spread to other shows if no one acts on this.

Well Homer is the presiding priest over the gay "marriage" seems like a healthy amount of fun is going to be directed at the concept.

The Simpson's are a topical show... gay marriage is a current events topic. I feel it's appropriate to wait before anyone passes judgement.

South Park does a far better job of savaging the left, although from a Libertarian viewoint. Nevertheless it makes the Left the butt of most of its political humor.

That he's been! And the show is going down the tubes. The problem is this sets a precedent for other shows, including ones like this with a substancial number of child viewers. This kind of trash would be expected from Will and Graceless, but the fact that it's hitting The Simpsons makes it dangerous. This show's watched by a lot of kids and has a reputation of being almost "mainstream".

Where's the fun in that?

The important question is "who's getting hitched?

The media's lavishing over the upcoming show. Groening is actively promoting the show in a way he hasn't promoted any others. From this it seems clear that the comedy will be more directed at internet "ministers" (which, btw, is worth poking fun at) and the actual idea of same sex marriage will be treated sympathetically.

The worst attack on morality comes in the form of Cartoons, which spread a shocking message of immorality under the cover of animation, a cynical move targetting a genre typically aimed at children. These cartoon films are supposedly "aimed at adults", but a moment's reflection counters this vacuous argument - what kind of grown adult watches cartoons? When we become adults we put childish things behind us, and cartoons, whilst of invaluable aid in entertaining and educating children, are of no use to a healthy adult of sound mind and firm moral base.

I don't see any harm in this adult cartoon, children should not be watching this program if they are that impressionable what about all the drinking going on at Moe`s and other things in the cartoon such as falling down cliffs, shootings, car theft, stealing etc.

I wish that were true. I work with a bunch of guys who watch this show. At lunch time they sit around and fart thinking its the funniest thing. They are so immature. I don't eat lunch with them becaue I can't abide the locker room humor. I am, therefore, branded an outcast. So be it. Anyway, this show affects millions of adults - more so, I think, than children.

This didn't start with The Simpsons. In fact, as edgy as The Simpsons seemed to be back in the eighties with its frequent explorations of gay culture, it's been surpassed in its lack of concern for traditional values, and is just trying to keep up now.

I remember when people were asking what the heck was up with kidvid channel Nickelodeon's showing of the weird, often nonsensical, and even sneakily homoerotic Ren & Stimpy show. Those concerns were ratcheted up when Beavis & Butt-head stunts were allegedly being copied by young MTV viewers (arson, putting a cat in a washing machine, dropping a bowling ball from a freeway overpass).

Knowing that many of the entries in the annual Spike & Mike animation festivals held in the Bay Area have voluntary warnings about adult content as well as midnight showings of entries that may cause attendees to vomit (I am not making this up), I told one person who bemoaned the existence of Beavis & Butt-head that "Some of the sickest, most twisted people on this planet are animators. You think this is bad? You ain't seen nothing yet."

Then South Park arrived on Comedy Central, and when it hit the cover of Newsweek, it became a part of our above-board pop culture, much to its detriment. No doubt this led to the Fox network's taking a chance on Family Guy, which entertained using such wholesome subjects as a father's jealousy over his son's enormous penis, and an episode which had as its climax the revelation that a race dog owner was having a sexual relationship with his prize female greyhound.
