Kerry's Three-Faced Foreign Policy
Los Angeles Times ^ | August 5, 2004 | Max Boot

If I read the tea leaves at the Democratic convention correctly, it seems that John F. Kerry served in Vietnam. But seeing as how Vietnam vets run the gamut from doves like Ron Kovic to hawks like Oliver L. North, Kerry's four months "in country" don't tell us much about what he would do in the next four years as president.

A devastating critique of Kerry "all political" foreign policy. And it comes from the L. A. Times. What's going on here?

This muddle raises the question of whether Kerry has a worldview, or whether he merely goes wherever the political winds blow. Surely it's no coincidence that his stances track precisely mainstream Democratic opinion, which was isolationist in the 1970s and 1980s, idealistically interventionist in the 1990s and coldly realist since 2001. When the Democrats were split, as they were over Iraq in 2002 and 2003, he clumsily tried to appease both hawks and doves. Where he will wind up nobody knows — not even, I suspect, him.

The Ultimate Straddler TM goes wherever the political winds push him. Isolationism, idealism, realism - John F*ckin's foreign policy will probably be a blend of all three approaches and given his Hamlet-like penchant for indecision, he will try not to offend any one. Its safe to say Kerry has no foreign policy since he has no real convictions as to how America ought to relate to the outside world.

I am concerned that Kerry, if elected will try to show how manly he is and do something stupid that ends up killing our soldiers.

That's not a concern - that's a given. Kerry has spent his entire life and career ducking responsibility and now he wants it conferred upon him by the plebiscite.

Between the two Johns of the Democrat Party, there isn't a single, cohesive policy thought among them. That's why none of his "plans" have any details associated with them - there aren't any details. He plans on doing exactly what Clinton did which is march into the Oval Office with an empty bag of platitudes, promises and plans - all of which, as we discovered to our chagrin, were woefully lacking in details.

The Democrats have already had their "party on, dude" president. Let's not give them another.

That's possible of course, but I think it's much more likely that he'd completely withdraw and ask the U.N. for permission to do anything. He'd more likely send our troops to Africa somewhere to fight AIDS instead of using them to protect us.

In kerry's privileged little feeble deranged psychopathic mind, he thinks of himself as (Atillia The Hun). We, the Real Americans know he is really Elmer Fudd, married to a desperate love starved rich B'atch. Kerry will not be elected! Bush/Cheney 4-more-years.
