For the record NYC has been at Orange since they started the color code nonsense. It's been nuts for the cops and fdnys, but they've managed. If this is the real deal and not some chatter the Apple could be Red.
Yea!! See?? That would make sense if NYC color code is being raised.
If we get to red, it's time to declare martial law and round up all Muslims for the internment camps.
I think the public announcement of raising of the terror color code is simply a way to let the public know that law enforcement is doing things differently so as to forestall the rumor mill. If it wasn't announced, rumors would be flying constantly. Some (especialyl conspiracy nuts and the Michael Moores of the world) would accuse the government of knowing a threat existed and hiding it from people. People who work in law enforcement and security know what they are supposed to do differently, and that is what matters most I think.
Sadly, the Homeland Security web site runs about 3 or 4 hours behind what's communicated by broadcast media.

I really think the only time the whole country would go "RED" is if there was a direct attack or a verifiable pending attack.

Perhaps some enterprising reporter will ask Kerry why he has refused to take any more White House press briefings and hasn't received one regarding the latest AQ threat.
On Larry King a few weeks ago he said he was too busy. (Getting botox, manicures and assorted other feminine beauty treatments).
Then a few days after that appearance he said he didn't wish to get briefed by the same CIA that gave us such bad information on Iraq. His spokesman said that Kerry has his OWN intelligence sources and gets briefings from them.
Well, I think we should DEMAND to know WHO ARE THEY? The French? Sandy Berger? Just who is giving Kerry intelligence briefings?
And, if there's another attack, isn't it fair to demand to know whether Kerry knew about it????????????????????????
Luckily I manage to avoid major corporations in NYC for the most part and more importantly do not use the subway or buses which I believe will be the next big targets.

FNC is reporting that is likely the alert will be raised nationaly .. right now it has been raised in NY
Brian Wilson on FoxNews says the threat level has not been raised, but is "likely" to be raised, but the decision has NOT been made yet. The decision will be made later today.

Gotta tell you, your remarks were already raised the ABC political show with George.
He said, pointed at one of Clinton's lackeys (Donna Brazil), that there have been rumors that perhaps something might happen to the US to keep Bush in (all thought I don't see that) office.
Better yet, these big gets, another conspiracy theory that we are manipulating things to get Bush in ... sigh.. do any of these folks EVER give it a REST.
