Gun Control Advocates Frustrated with Kerry's Silence on Assault Weapons Ban
7/30/2004

Gun control advocates are angry that Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry has been reluctant to mention the expiring federal assault weapons ban on the campaign trail, the Hill reported July 29.

Kerry's campaign is divided over whether the presidential candidate should get involved with the controversial issue. Currently, the campaign is running television commercials showing Kerry hunting and distributing literature promoting Kerry's support of the Second Amendment.

Although Kerry supports the ban and voted for its extension, gun control advocates said his actions aren't enough. They would like to see Kerry mention gun control measures in his speeches and as one of the issue topics listed on his campaign website.

"The National Rifle Association has done a very good job of convincing people after 2000 that the gun issue was harmful to the Democrats," said Peter Hamm, a spokesman for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.

The federal assault weapons ban is set to expire on Sept. 13

Wow, they make him sound like a Republican, lol! That's the wonderful thing about 'rats; nowadays Che Gueverra wouldn't be far enough left for them. They'll ultimately devour their young and destroy the party.

Waaaa. Cry me a river.

Kerry is now pro-life, pro-military, pro-family, pro- self defence, don't ya know. He said so.
This is sort of funny. He's pretending to be a Republican to win. I wonder how his base feels about his trying to advocate Republican ideals to the nation. He's making his activist base look like sub humans , and they still stand there and wag their super sized thongs as his bus rolls by.

LOL, they can't really trash Bush over this as long as Kerry won't even mention it.

And they'll die of thirst before Kerry ever mentions so much as one word about it. He hasn't forgotten that Al Gore lost his own state on the strength of the gun control issue alone.

Kerry will treat his own base like Bush is treating his: If they don't like it, too d@mn bad. Where are they going to go?

Kerry, the big chicken, ain't gonna to say a thing about gun control.

The Democrats said they were going to introduce Kerry to America at their convention, but he won’t talk about guns, and now he says he won’t tell us his financial plans for the economy until he’s elected.

I guess we’re supposed to recognize his French upbringing and natural superiority and know that he’ll do what’s best for us, whether we like it or not.

He may be after it, but he won't get it. It won't be from my cold dead hands either. He simply won't get it.

President Bush's campaign plans to use the normally quiet month of August for a vigorous drive to undercut John Kerry by turning attention away from his record in Vietnam to what they described as an undistinguished and left-leaning record in the Senate.

Mr. Bush's advisers plan to cap the month at the Republican convention in New York, which they said would feature Mr. Kerry as an object of humor and calculated derision.
(NYT article. Go Bush)

It'll be soooo easy to laugh at Kerry. The country's doing it already. He's easy fodder for everyone to get involved. It could become a new fad. I love this idea. People love a good joke.

The ultimate deception is Kerry as a moderate...Bill & Hillary pulled the exact same crap
The media refuses to expose him for what he is...they aid and abet the democrat deception

Kerry, Kennedy, Schumer & Feinstein have backed a bill to strip every gun owning American of their semi auto 22 LRs their their pump, bolt action, and semi auto, rilfes and shotguns and all handguns...

Once they sneak this by...then they and their police chief friends will go house to house as they recently did in Oshkosh Wi...broke into citizens home rifled through their possessions and took firearms and what ever else they felt like...last weekend...

The press has ignored this...and the attorney general and governor are salivating over the possiblities...

Their ultimate goal is confiscation of all firearms that could be used to depose them and stop them...

And this thinking is not limited to Democrats either....

I'm concerned that this push to rush recommendations of the 9-11 Commission into law could provide the perfect stealth vehicle to sneak the AWB into law by a voice vote, with no way of finding who voted for it individually. Thus, everybody gets away with it at no political cost.

Bush signs it because he said he would.
