The Company He Keeps (John F'n Kerry and friends)
The Barnstable Patriot [Hyannis, MA] ^ | July 31, 2004 | Steve Tefft

One of modern English's oldest clichés holds that a man is known by the company he keeps; that much can be discerned about someone by examining those with whom he associates.

The phrase, like other clichés, is certainly a bit overused, but it can apply to this year's presidential election and the man who is has become the Democrats' nominee for president, yet about whom much of the country doesn't know much. Senator John Kerry has recently accumulated several strange, puzzling and troubling associations that could ? and probably should ? cause voters to take a second look before voting for the senator this fall. A quick look at some of Kerry's company:

Whoopi Goldberg hosted a Democrat fundraiser in June at New York's Radio City Music Hall. The evening was filled with music, good cheer and x-rated diatribes against the president. Goldberg made repeated, sexual double-entendres about the president's surname, and other performers referred to Mr. Bush as a "cheap thug" and a "killer." Does John Kerry agree with Goldberg & Company's vision of the president? Apparently so, because at the end of the evening, Kerry ? who sat through the entire show laughing and cheering ? lauded the performers for "convey (ing) to you the heart and soul of our country." Running mate John Edwards said the evening was "a celebration of American values." Are these the values of the Kerry/Edwards ticket?

Al Gore has gone over the edge with his hatred for George W. Bush. He's called the president a liar, a traitor ("He betrayed this country!!!!") and our "most dishonest president." Recently the former vice president labeled the president's support staff as "digital Brownshirts" and Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison the "Bush gulag." Are these sentiments shared by John Kerry? Evidently so, because Al Gore gave a major speech at the Democratic National Convention in Boston.

I think we should call him "Effin" just like they call our candidate "Dubya."

Interesting point...I have read that he was the most despised member of the Senate...have never seen anything about him having friends..etc. The President is known for his many friendships, some from childhood. Kerry on the other hand apparently has none. Explanation may be "You reap what you sow" and when you are a despicable low life example of the human species friends are few and far between. Besides he as his "Man Servant" 24/7...who needs friends?

If Kerry has any true friends, I'll be surprised, but he's probably closest with Ted Kennedy. And what does that tell you about his ability to make judgement calls?
