BUFFALO, N.Y. - Groups of American activists returned Monday without incident to U.S. soil after deliberately defying new rules increasing travel restrictions to Cuba.
About 90 members of the Venceremos Brigade re-entered the country on foot in groups of 15, carrying banners and pulling suitcases behind them.
Very smooth, was how Los Angeles social worker Georgina Peralka, 27, described her passage through a customs checkpoint after walking across the Peace Bridge from Canada into Buffalo.
While U.S. citizens have been making such trips for the past 35 years, the latest travelers were the first to directly challenge new rules that further tightened restrictions.
Venceremos organizer Ann Sparanese said travelers with the group signed paperwork at the U.S.-Canadian border acknowledging travel to Cuba, but did not provide details, such as how much money they spent, she said.
The group, whose name means We will be victorious, brought busloads of medical and other equipment to Cuba, traveling through Mexico to avoid U.S. travel restrictions.

As the above article correctly points out, "VENCEREMOS" is a spanish word meaning "we will be victorious".
However, "VENCEREMOS" was the adopted 'battle-cry' of the Cuban Communist Revolution of 1959, along with other leftist, socialist, and communist movements.
What the article does not point out about these "90 members of the Venceremos Brigade" is that they are a communist front group who's entire agenda is promoting Fidel Castro's Communist government and the continual OPPRESSION and DICTORSHIP of the Cuban citizenry.
SEE FOR YOURSELF, go right to their website: Venceremos Brigade

These are some of their resource links:

Now, do we need any further proof that the "Associated Press" is a willing participant in the promotion and dessimination of Communist propaganda, as well as assisting those Americans who want to help and work with sworn enemy governments of the United States???
A co-worker of mine goes to Cuba 3 or 4 times a year through the Bahamas (or something like that).
He goes down there for the Cigars, Rum and Hookers. It's a paradise, obviously.
Not really germaine to the story, but BTTT.
BTW: I was born in Havana...I would love to be able to go back one day.
We have in our area a growing group of Cuban refugees, the future Mrs rrrod and I work with them, assisting them in getting settled. A very sad part to the situation in Vuba is young girls will do almost anything to get out. Its a point of embarrasment to Cubans. Some have even married Frenchhmen to get out!
all the best to you.
I hope you can get back to a "free" Cuba.
It would be better if your coworker enjoyed his Cigars, Rums, and Hookers by just stopping in the Bahamas and not going further on to "Cuba".
After all, his/her enjoyment is directly patronizing the oppresive Communist Party of Cuba's cash register, who are the jailers of the Cuban citizenry.

I've told him that many times. He doesn't care. He gets a house girl for a week and she treats him like a king.
He's a flaming Clintonista, what do you expect?
That says it all!
But wait - I thought Cuba was the land of immediate, unlimited, and perfect health care administration! Surely you can't improve upon perfection!
Cuba is not a 'paradise' with unlimited perfect healthcare.
Sure it's "FREE"! But, as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for"!
The country is bankrupt! Economically, politically, and socially. All to the credit of the FIDEL CASTRO!
That country and it's system is a complete SHAM!!
That's the joke, pal.
It's paradise if you have a lot of money, and do not mind the almost constant presence of police, interior ministry soldiers, security guards, and all the propaganda murals and billboards.
That wore on me after a few days. I was desperate to be in a "revolution free" zone, which is impossible on that island prison.
More lies of omission by the presstitutes of the MainstreamMedia.
Thanks for the elaboration and the link.
Castro says he has the cleanest teenage prostitutes in the world. I might have to make a trip myself. /dripping with sarcasm
You're joking, right?
My sarcasm wasn't obvious? ;-)
It IS a paridise if all you live for are cigars, rum and hookers.
Just making sure.
I love the "greatest hits" lineup on your home page.
Some of the comemnts on the jobs/economic threads on FR make my head spin. They're copied/pasted direct from the Kucinich '04 issues manual.
Thanks. Been awhile since I updated it b/c I don't post as much anymore (although I still come here often for articles, polls, etc.). There are definitely some major loons around here though. :-)
