.......had Ronstadt escorted to her tour bus and her belongings from her hotel room sent to her.

This guy Timmins doesn't mess around.

She said Moore "is someone who cares about this country deeply and is trying to help."

Right. And your ex-"boyfriend" Moonbeam was straight.

"She said Vegas isn't the best place to perform anyway," Squyres said.

HA! She's lucky she got a gig there!

The same Michael Moore who is going up and down Europe saying that Americans are the most stupid people in the world? The same one who thinks that the anti-Democratic terrorist insurgents in Iraq are minutemen and freedom fighters? The same one who thinks that the problem with the 9/11 terrorists is that they targeted a blue state instead of a red state? I don't think he cares a toot about his country!

Ooooh. Sour grapes! If it's good enough for Dire Straights and the Grateful Dead, it's good enough for Ronstadt. I used to love her albums, but I laud the good sense of the Aladdin management.

I'm so sick of Michael Moore. I just wish "Jabba the Hut" would simply go away.

She went up in front of the stage and just let it out.

She must have had a big meal, prior to getting on the stage.

No one called Timmins on the unkindest cut of all:

Not only has he barred her from performing at the Aladdin, but he's banned her from the buffet as well.

And then she gave fans some of what they came for, several of her hits from the '70s and '80s, including "Just One Look" (1979), "Ooh Baby, Baby" (1978) and "Somewhere Out There" (1987).

Although she still has that powerful, distinctive voice, Ronstadt was merely going through the motions.

The only song she had trouble with was "Blue Bayou." She stumbled over the lyrics, seemed to gasp for breath at one point and ended the song in Spanish, screaming the words rather than singing them.

Her performance was uninspired and generally flat. She lacked stage presence, doing little more than sleepwalk from song to song.

I saw Linda at the Pan Am center in Las Cruces, NM in 78 or 79...it was great! Sorry to see she doesn't give a damn anymore.

Heart is back on tour and appearing in Reno soon. I hope Anne and Nancy Wilson can still rock the house.

I love my new hometown of Las Vegas. So much better than my old hometown of NYC.

"She said Vegas isn't the best place to perform anyway," Squyres said.

Yes. All performers try to avoid it like a plague. Big salries, comped rooms, treatment like royalty.

Sour grapes.

Actually, I think Moore would be the first to admit that he hates Americans; he has said so publicly. I'm having a little trouble picturing his caring for this country while despising its people.

Timmins, who was among the almost 5,000 fans in the audience at the Aladdin Theatre for the Performing Arts, had Ronstadt escorted to her tour bus and her belongings from her hotel room sent to her. Timmins also sent word to Ronstadt that she was no longer welcome at the property for future performances, according Aladdin spokeswoman Tyri Squyres.

Ah, for the days of Old Vegas, when she would have been stunned with a cattle-prod, stuffed in the trunk of a Caddy, and dumped in the desert halfway between Vegas and Pahrump.

HAHA, good for Bill Timmins. You can contact him @: 702-785-5555 (Alladin Resort phone #) or fax him @: 702-785-9140. So refreshing to hear of a decisive leader who calls a spade a spade.

I don't know how many folks here are fans of hers, but FWIW I saw k d lang this weekend, who also played in front of a symphony orchestra.

All I can say is that kd has more class in her little finger than apparently Linda has in her more than ample frame.

Kd was interactive, funny, self-deprecating, and apolitical. And she just friggin' *nailed* her songs - I guess you'd have had to have been there but she didn't miss one note, flub one lyric or give anything less than 110% - a true professional in every sense of the word - pretty stark contrast I'd say.
