"The floor of the United States Senate should only be used for the common good, not issues designed to divide us for political purposes.

Hey F'ing kerry, you haven't spent enough time there lately. How the heck would you know what is going on?

When I am president, I will work to bring the nation together and build a stronger America."

In your F'ing dreams.

John-John weren't even present to vote for this. They shouldn't be allowed to even comment upon it.

Kerry is an exceptionally good BS artist. Says he'd vote against it, but for some obscure political reasons, never addressing the substance of the amendment. So he is supposedly against gay marriage and against preventing gay marriage. Similar to his abortion subterfuge. He's against it but will do everything to preserve it. Translation: A phoney liberal who is solidly for both gay marriage and abortion without limits.

Exactly!

"However, even Republicans concede that this amendment is being offered only for political gains."

This is a frank admission by the leader of the RAT Party that gay marriage is a losing issue for them.

The political implications of that are huge.

John-John weren't even present to vote for this. They shouldn't be allowed to even comment upon it.

On the contrary. They were the ONLY two who did not vote on it. They should be made to tell exactly why they DID NOT VOTE if this was so important to them.

He's proud of his daughters but didn't he make them illegitimate children when he annulled his first marriage?

That's the unltimate Dem cop-out on this issue...saying "We shouldn't be messing with the Constitution." It's their way of candy-coating it and attempting to pass it off as something "shocking", as if to say, "How DARE those Republicans attempt to touch the Constitution!"

Pisses me right off.

This headline came up when I searched Google's news articles on this topic: "Rosie Blasts Bush On Eve Of Anti-Gay Marriage Vote"

It comes from a same sex parents website. I don't really care to post the article (and didn't have a good thread for it). Since this thread seems to have gone a little lighter in tone, I'll air it here.

"Rosie Blasts Bush On Eve Of Anti-Gay Marriage Vote" brings up an uncomfortable (painful?) image of using a Black & Decker sander as an epilady more than it does any reference to our current President...

They won't because they are risk averse and scared. They think if they make zero mistakes from now on they may hold on and win. It's a cowardly strategy and a similar one almost lost the election for them in 2000 against a dopey Al Gore.

They need to act as if they have already lost and have nothing more to lose. Shake some things up and start launching hail mary's.

"It's time for the Bush team and RNC to not just release a typical soft response but blast them with specific details on their truancy, ask for their resignation from the Senate, and use terms like unqualified, incompetent and irrational."

This is already happening. Check out the Bush Campaign TV Ad entitled: "Priorities" Check it out.

"While campaigning John Kerry has missed 2/3 of all votes."

"Worst Attendance Record in the U.S. Senate"

"Missed a vote to lower health care costs by reducing frivolous law suits against doctors."

"Missed a vote to fund our troops in combat."

"Yet, Kerry found time to vote against the Laci Peterson Law, that protects Pregnant women from violence."

"Kerry has his priorities. Are they yours?"

***

Not bad, eh? All they need to do is release an updated version of this in which they include Kerry AND Edwards failure to be present to vote to protect marriage. I expect it'll be out in a bout a week.
