MICHAEL Moore messed with the wrong rocker when he charged that The Who's Pete Townshend refused to allow his classic hit "Won't Get Fooled Again" to be used in "Fahrenheit 9/11." Biting back on his Web site, Townshend said the reason the song wasn't used was not because he was for the war in Iraq (which he admits he was), but because he doesn't trust Moore's accuracy in reporting and regards Moore as a bully. "When first approached, I knew nothing about the content of his film 'Fahrenheit 9/11,' " Townshend writes. "I had not really been convinced by 'Bowling for Columbine,' and had been worried about its accuracy . . . Once I had an idea what the film was about, I was 90 percent certain my song was not right for them." [snip]

. . THAT Teresa Heinz Kerry surprised and worried some of the 1,000 guests at Friday morning's Women for Kerry breakfast when she looked out at the crowd and said, "We had better get you women some birth control, there are so many of you here!" Yikes.

He, Mr. Townshend, was born on May 19. Quite possibly the most creative and revolutionary of all days of the year. Oh, yeah, that's my birthday as well.

I just knew the fun wouldn't start until they let Mrs. Kerry out of the bag. She says the whackiest things. She calls her late husband "my husband" so by the end of a paragraph you don't know which husband she is talking about. One time when he was receiving an award, she got up to receive it with him (Anybody else would have stayed in place but obviously he's bought and paid for so if she wants to speak, who's to say no?)--then she gave a speech about how she married him because he was a virgin (which everyone acknowledged was such a joke because he was a real rounder as a single man about town).
She's as goofy as the rodent who lives in the outside bathroom and he's never without her. Instead of being a great helpmate, she's going to end up being his albatross.

Ah, yes, but for Moore, I was hoping for something with a little more slicing power.

Won't Get Fooled Again is my favorite song by The Who, I felt kinda sold out when it was used for one of the CSI shows, But would have tossed all my Who/Townshend albums in the trash if it was used by Lard-Boy.

She's a slob in every way. A loose cannon. Frankly, she acts like a drunk.

Right on, Pete! I'm surprised that Moore didn't just use Pete's song anyway, the same way Moore highjacked Ray Bradbury's title against Bradbury's objections.

I watched a little of the interview with her and hubby JF'nK and the interview was painful to watch. But judging by the expression on Kerry's face, his pain was far greater than mine.
I didn't need her to appreciate Mrs. Bush as First Lady, but the difference between the two women is incredible. Mrs. Bush is pure class.

I'm surprised that Moore didn't just use Pete's song anyway He would have ended up paying every cent of the profits, plus his New York townhouse, to Pete Townsend.
