GREECE $TIFFS OLYMPIC SECURITY BIZ

Frustrated by delays, the Greek government has postponed payment on a multimillion-dollar security system being built for the Summer Olympics by an American-led consortium.

The final installment of $173 million has been put on hold due to government concerns about whether the security system will be ready for the Aug. 13 opening, the Athens daily To Vima reported yesterday.

Wasn't it no too long ago that Greece was on the FAA bad-boy list of airports with no effective security?

Yep, it's right up there with TWA's, United's and American's major hubs as being among the world's most lax and dangerous airports.
