What are your favorite patriotic music CD's?

I don't have a CD-burner and want to purchase some patriotic music CD's from Amazon. Any suggestions?

I already have Lee Greenwood's CD and Daryl Worley's.

I'm thinking about ordering Esprit de Corp by the United States Air Force Band.

Please suggest a CD title and the artist/s.

I would like to order a "variety-artists" CD if there is a good one.

Spirit of America by the Beach Boys. The most, er, American collection ever.

A few years ago, Dr. Laura was advertising "Kids Bless America". I bought a copy and absolutely love it! Am now trying to find it again on the net. I'll let you know if I find it.

I have two favorites. The first is titled America On The March by some guy named Bob Sharples. It contains instrumental versions of the National Anthem, Anchors Aweigh, The Army Song, The Marine Corps Hymn and a few other patriotic tunes. The second is a recording of the Marine Corps Band playing Sousa. I've had both CD's since the 1980's when I found them in the discount racks at the PX.

Here are some of my favorites -- I used my favorite tracks from these (as well as Lee Greenwood's) to burn my own "Patriotic" CD:

BATTLE CRY OF FREEDOM - Robert Shaw Chorale (a classic!)

GOD BLESS AMERICA - Mormon Tabernacle Choir (compilation -- a must-have -- they also have a newer patriotic CD, SPIRIT OF AMERICA)

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL - Boston Pops (compilation -- another must-have)

AMERICAN JUBILEE - Cincinnati Pops (great recording of Williams' "Liberty Fanfare")

THE SPIRIT OF AMERICA - Daniel Rodriguez (the "singing cop"

SUMMON THE HEROES and AMERICAN JOURNEY - Boston Pops (heavy on Williams' themes for Olympics staged in the U.S. over the last 2 decades, including the great theme for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics)

Enjoy!

Best rendition of that I've ever heard was Huey Lewis & the News, a capella...

I just received the WE WERE SOLDIERS soundtrack yesterday... For all who are interested, the Reagan Library will put out an official CD of the music from the funeral services around July 1st.

Number one on any list should be "Star and Stripes Forever", followed closely by about 100 other personal favorites.

Hail to the Chief used to be one of my favorites, until I found that they also played it for Bill Clinton... because they had to.

Yes, John Phillip Souza all the way..

Stars and Stripes forever

Semper Fidelis

Washington Post (great song, hate the newspaper)

I am unable to be unhappy when I hear Souza.

Yo-Yo Ma's "Appalachian Waltz" is a lively bit of 3-piece perfection.
