Citizens for a Safer Minnesota Education Fund was founded in 1999 and its mission is to work with Minnesotans to eliminate gun violence. In carrying out this mission, CSMEF educates, advocates, and organizes around issues focused on a single goal: that all people in Minnesota, particularly children and youth, will be safe from gun violence in their homes, schools, and neighborhoods. CSMEF takes a public health approach to the problems of gun violence, emphasizing the need for prevention, and advocates for public policy initiatives based on sound medical and public health research. Bookmark the bang_list. This is not a "ping" list (no one maintains a list of interested FReepers). It is a do-it-yourself, see-what's-been-bumped-to-the list. Anyone can bump an article to the list by sending it To: *bang_list Then, interested FReepers can (bookmark and) check the list periodically to see new articles. Please do not ask me to "add you to the list." It doesn't work like that. This is better than a ping list because (1) anyone can bump an article to the list, and any interested parties can see the list of articles 24x7.
Why post that picture?
Yes, somebody shot up the sign. But it wasn't done there, someone took it, shot it up, and then put it back.
There was no sign of pellets, wadding, or fragments of the sign at the location, or damage to the ground, vegetation, or the vehicles that were parked just beyond the sign.
Nobody in the residence were aware of the shooting, nobody in town noticed it, and nobody bothered to contact the police.
In fact, nobody in town knew anything at all about the sign or the alleged shooting until CSM posted pictures of it on their website.
Odd.
How many time can you print "gun violence" in 4 lines of text? Is there no other kind of violence? Sling shot, knife, club or other.
Is it still "gun violence" when the attempted rapist is lying in a pool of blood on the floor, and even his 10 page rap sheet, brought to the scene later, isn't enough to soak up all the blood that drained from the bullet holes the intended victim put in him?
No. That is reasonable and responsible gun control.
Gun control saves lives (of the well armed oppressors).
Darn! I was going to make my post #10 publication worthy and send it in. If any Minnesotan wants to submit it, please feel free to.
The damage to this sign shows how guns are uniquely able to convey a particular political opinion. Therefore, RKBA is a First Amendment issue! ;^)
Unfortunately, Oleg doesn't live in Minnesota anymore.
He did, though, graduate from MCAD.
Hey, I've got a spare bedroom. I'll rent it out to him for $1 so he can claim legal Minnesota residency.
the "innocent victim" phrase doesn't match with that series! That was a hit! with a specific target.
"Why post that picture? "
Their pictures are very large files, so I figured if everybody loked at them and spread them around (using their url) we could really waste their bandwidth!
No, the shooter was mad at the bouncer or something like that and decided to "air the place out" by busting a few caps. The poor guy who was killed was a random victim who just happened to be in exactly the wrong place at exactly the wrong time.
I'm thinkin' that a good performance art piece would be to go to the show, pull a piece (a cap gun) and hose down the crowd with several plants in the audience that would fall down screaming. The artist/'gunman' could then stalk among the fallen and simulate delivering the final coup d'gras, ala the Luby's Cafeteria killings in Killeen, Texas.
At some point, another patron (an allied performance artist) could pull another piece (a cap gun) and return the fire and put down the first assailant.
After the ensueing panic and pants pissing died down, literature could be distributed that explains why they are all ignorant fools for opposing the MPPA.
Just a notion...
