The Attack on the Khobar Compound - Unexpurgated Version
The Virginian ^ | 6/14/2004 | Moneyrunner

On May 29th terrorists attacked the Khobar complex in Saudi Arabia. 22 people were killed. The US media gave us the sanitized version. Those killed were identified by their nationalities; the manner of their death was glossed over. It can't be squeamishness on the part of the American media, as the relentless pictures and descriptions of Abu Ghraib will testify.

MEMRI, the Middle East Media Research Institute, has given as a somewhat more graphic insight into what happened that day, in the words of Fawwaz bin Muhammad Al-Nashami, commander of the Al-Quds Brigade that took responsibility for the May 29 attack at Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The following are excerpts from the interview. Note the piety of the practitioners of the “Religion of Peace.”

For those who are interested in the complete interview click Special Dispatch Series - No. 731

"We turned to the third site, which was the most fortified center of all the compounds. Our plan was to remain in the car until we were alongside the American Hummer. When we were next to it, the brothers appeared from the windows [of the car] and began shouting 'Allah Akbar,' and shooting them. And I saw the skull of the soldier standing behind the machine gun explode before my eyes. Allah be praised. I think the driver was also killed.

Sure, I can see how 24/7 coverage of putting panties on a man's head is more newsworthy then this;

"We went out, and drove our car. We had tied the infidel by one leg [behind the car]. We left the company [compound] and met the patrols. The first to arrive was the jeep of a patrol, with one soldier, and we killed him. With the rest we exchanged fire, and we got through.

[snip]

"The infidel's clothing was torn to shreds, and he was naked in the street. The street was full of people, as this was during work hours, and everyone watched the infidel being dragged, praise and gratitude be to Allah.

"When we arrived at one of the bridges, we encountered an ambush of jeeps of theTawaghitdogs [i.e. Saudi government troops] and the guards of the Americans, and we exchanged fire with them. [2] When we crossed the bridge, the rope [by which the Briton was tied] snapped and the body of the infidel fell in the middle of the intersection, between the four stop signs, and everyone who was stopped at the stop signs saw the infidel on the day that he fell from the top of the bridge.

"The brothers had exchanged fire with the patrols, all the while shouting, 'Allah Akbar,' and 'There is no God but Allah.'"

The media can't run with that it would not inflame passion against their true enemy - the Republicans in general and George Bush in particular. The phrase "useful idiots" still applies, only the opposing ideology has changed.

There are amazing differences between what you read and hear on TV and reality on the ground.

But this is too good a story to be buried.

Well, I think we have known for some time that the press has little to no interest in portraying what is really happening over seas.

An interesting footnote though here. If you read the media of the extreme Left - Wikipedia, Indymedia, etc; they had exactly the same things to say about Afghanistan that the mainstream media now claims in Iraq. The only difference is the mainstream media refused to parrot their lies in Afghanistan and are willing participants in spreading them in regards to Iraq.

Oh, and as a more general point, while I have no doubt the terrorist quoted in this article is exaggerating, it seems to me that the local police department in Podunk, Anystate US could have done a better job stopping them then Saudi Arabia's security forces...

Couple of things to consider here. First of all, in Saudi Arabia only the police and military are armed. The attack on unarmed and virtually helpless civilians is consistent with the level of cowardice of these dogs.

Second, you have to consider that most, if not all, of these victims are likely to have lived in Saudi Arabia some time and have fully bought into the nonsense of the "Law of Hospitality" that is bandied about there. I know. I believed it once too.

Personally, I am grateful beyond measure for the Concealed Carry Liscence that my state (Texas) has. My personal laws of hospitality come in .45, .44 and 12 gauge. I am as firm a believer in the ownnership and skilled use of fire arms as were my anscestors in 1823 when they arrived in Texas in 1823.

The day will certainly come when the availability and skilled use of firearms will prove to be of immeasurable value to one with the presence of mind to use them (not to mention the detriment of the pig excrement one may encounter on the highways of todays world). Will they come here? Mr Kerry and company notwithstanding, they are here.

Heck, local citizens with deer rifles from any rural town in a red zone county would have done better.

Agreed completely. Was the first thing that came to mind when the reports initially surface of them going door-to-door querying whether folks were Christinas, Jews, or muslims. In this country I feel that many of our fine citizens could have dispatched these four scumbags quickly. Unlike the Saudi Keystone Cops, who appeared to be totally unmotivated to end this quickly, if it's your door then it's quite personal. My answer would be "I'm a devotee of John Browning and Sam Colt."
