I stand by my statement. If we go back to say.......1970 and look at the stated reasons WHY Islamo-nutters have been attacking us.....the resounding message they tell us is that it is indeed a "holy war" (along with supporting Israel, our supposed "influence" in ME affairs, bla, bla, bla)
If someone walks up to me on a pretty regiular basis for 30 odd years and bitch slaps me....sooner or later (more than likely sooner), I'll get the message.

Whether GWB wants to acknowledge that it is a "holy war" or not......it is.

I stand by my statement as well but you fail to acknowledge the critical distinction. You or I can spout whatever bilge that comes to mind with little fear of the consequence unless it involves the pulchritude of the biker's babe on the stool next to you.

When the President of the United States speaks every possible connotation, nuance, meaning or hint is analyzed by every country/faction/interest group/etc..
