Well, you have to remember that when the brave jihadists have a gun pointed at them, their tune goes from "we seek death the way you seek life", to "Pleaaaasse don't shoooot meee! I love Boooosh!."

Here in The Peoples' Republic of Maryland the local TV outlets ran the story "Foreign Hostages Released" and did not mention the rescue. Several minutes later we saw the same story on FNC and you would have thought it was two completely separate incidents. My wife was appalled that the local media makes such a blatent effort to distort the truth by careful choice of wording. I grew up in the days when Pravda and other such papers were refered to as "propaganda" and people saw it for what it was. But, unfortunately, propaganda has been honed to a fine and precise technology where subliminal editorial agenda is inserted expertly into the information stream as "news". Is it any wonder that we have such a hate filled group of people screaming for heads to roll when they are subjected to a constant barage of this garbarge.

I hope that this was a dry run for rescuing the American soldiers being held.

"Tuesday's operation to release the men, led by Polish and U.S. special forces, took place after an intensive intelligence investigation, Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said."

Yes, that's how it was initially reported (as if AQ had made a generous gesture). Then it emerged that they had actually been rescued by us.

How many news services are going to correct this remains to be seen...

I waited until this morning to see if this story would be in the Austin Ultra-Liberal Un-American Non-Statesman Pravda. Sure enough, it was in the paper.

On page A-10, under some ads.

Polish special forces like GROM are very, very good. I applaud their help!

To paraphrase the late Dixie Hicks, I'm ashamed that that paper is from Texas. In fact, other than the San Angelo paper, all the papers in Texas aren't fit to line a birdcage.

Very nicely put. The only reason I still buy the Austin Pravda, is to see how desperate the left is becoming. There are so many "hate Bush" letters to the editor every day. Occasionally, they will print one pro Bush letter, but then some lib will write another letter slamming the author.
