FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 4, 2004
Today, Sixth Circuit Judge George W. Greer has ruled that Terri Schiavo's visitation rights should be restored. In his 5 page ruling, Greer states that a 'thorough, complete and competent' investigation by the Clearwater Police Department was conclusive that no 'evidence of anything approaching criminal conduct' existed.
You will recall that a press release, issued by attorney George Felos, laid allegations against Terri Schiavo's parents of inflicting puncture wounds on her arms and that she was found disheveled immediately following a visit from her parents on March 29, 2004.
An exhaustive inquiry and investigation by the Clearwater Police Department was concluded on May 14, 2004 and an official press release was issued that stated the Department's position that no criminal activity had taken place. However, Michael Schiavo continued to bar Terri's visitors and, therefore, a hearing on the matter took place on May 26, 2004.
During that hearing to restore visitation, testimony was given by three Hospice nurses who had also given interviews with the Clearwater Police Department. We would encourage you to compare their statements to the police with their testimony.
We at the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation savor this recent and substantial victory for Terri as she has so very few in the courts. Under Florida Statute 744.3215, paragraph (M), Terri retains the right 'To receive visitors and communicate with others'. This is a retained right that no guardian may take away without prior court approval. It was appropriate and necessary for the court to restore this retained right to Terri in light of the fact that no evidence exists to warrant its restriction.
Terri's family is delighted to know that they may again spend time with their beloved daughter/sister. We at Terri's foundation are also relieved to know that one of Terri's retained rights has been restored, but we are likewise dismayed that many other retained rights are being studiously stripped from her.

"Mighty big of you, judge".
Yeah, but he threatened the Schindlers over the video tape. When I read what the judge had to say about THAT, it scared the bejeebers out of me. Now the Schindler's have that threat hanging over their heads. By the way, as I read the judge's ruling, I noticed DOZENS of spelling and grammatical errors. It's a pathetic document. What's up with this court? Then he ends up by threatening Bob Schindler with contempt of court for videotaping his daughter and giving the tape to Randall Terry. You know, if Bob Schindler hadn't given that tape to Randall Terry for distribution, Terri would be dead right now!
If one is an idiot, then one can find them self agreeing with G. Felos and recall the name when they need his services in criminal court.
I think these judges are starting to hear from those of us who remind them that the Second Amendment to the Constitution is meant to protect us FROM our own tyranical govt officials (such as unlawful judicial activists).
This will work only as long as we maintain our FIRST AMENDMENT.
One man says to a second man: "Do you believe in the First Amendment freedom of speech?"
The second man says: "Of course I do."
The first man then asks: "Do you believe in the Second Amendment freedom to bear arms?"
The second man replies: "No, I don't."
The first man insists: "Then shut up!"
The moral of the story is: you can have your rights, but you have to protect and defend them, too.

PING
It is from the sadistic Michael (the husband from hell, as some have called him)that Terri must be protected.
Scott Peterson and OJ Simpson come to mind. Michael is in the same league.
Exactly.
Yes, it was great news. Guardians cannot restrict visitation. And that's not all Michael Schiavo's done all these years. Being with her family makes Terri very happy and excited.
Have you yet figured out, Floriduh voter, why your fellow Floridians seem to ask "How High?" when George W. Greer orders them to jump? People there have "faith" (if that is the proper word) in George W. Greer. Is this some kind of Republican "worship" or what?
.
GOD is Good
.
Good news bump for Terri.
Hi, amdgmary -- thanks for posting this. Pinging a few others.
Greer is dividing the Pinellas county Republican Party. When they call me to come in and help, I may go to headquarters to express their insanity by sticking with Greer. Bush could lose Pinellas. Bush lost Pinellas in 2000 and now the Republicans like me are so disgusted with our GOP judges, how hard will be campaign for the entire ticket? Hard to campaign when you are disgusted.
But aren't the judges elected in a "nonpartisan" election on Aug. 31 and independent of the presidential electors? It's hard to imagine George W. Greer really voting for a Republican slate himself even if he considers himself "Republican." I know that I would NEVER vote for George W. Greer even if HE were the Republican candidate against John Kerry!
Hard to campaign when you are disgusted.
As you know, Floriduh Voter, supporting George W. Greer is beyond "disgust." It is as evil as contributing to the reelection of EMK and other such vermin.
Judge Greer is unfit for the job. He should have been impeached.
TERRI PING!
I've been gone for a while, busy with graduation and other end-of-school events. Thanks to those who have kept me up on the latest. It's taken me a day to catch up on the latest at FR!
If anyone wants on/off my Terri Schindler-Schiavo ping list, please let me know.
Continued prayers for Terri!
