FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
COALITION SOLDIERS QUESTION NEWS MEDIA FOLLOWING ROADSIDE BOMB
MOSUL, Iraq - Coalition soldiers questioned two news media cameramen and a reporter after a roadside bomb exploded near a Coalition convoy two kilometers north of Mosul June 3.
The media, who were at the scene prior to the attack, told soldiers at the scene they had received a tip to be at that location prior to the attack and they had witnessed the explosion.
There was minimal damage to a Coalition vehicle, a cracked windshield, and no serious injuries.
3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division soldiers requested the media accompany them to a base camp in Mosul to answer questions as witnesses to the incident. The news media representatives left the base camp in the mid afternoon.

Amen, I agree.
Names .....we demand the names of these "journalists" who put the story ahead of the lives of American troops.
Something tells me those "journalists" are lucky nobody was seriously hurt.
And the media wonders why they are hated and loathed in this country!
If they are Europeans they should be escorted out of the country.
So the media was there in advance and watched a military vehicle explode...The fact that no U.S. military was killed or wounded is inconsequencial...The media did not warn the convoy of the impending danger...
The military should have unloaded with all available weaponry to take out the media terrorists...
Who is this anonymous...."The media"?
Please ping me if these names are released. I cannot express the rage I am feeling right now.
Could have been Dan Rather, didn't he actually say something on this issue?
Ever since the Supreme Court ruled on the "Pentagon Papers," journalists have felt as if they are above the law.
" The media, who were at the scene prior to the attack, told soldiers at the scene they had received a tip to be at that location prior to the attack and they had witnessed the explosion.
There was minimal damage to a Coalition vehicle, a cracked windshield, and no serious injuries.

Prosecute them for Treason.
Here's one for fairness...
CENTCOM did not release the names of personnel involved in Abu Ghraib, the presstitutes did that.
Ditto for journalists...no special treatment, whether they deserve it or not.
Ping!
I am going to write to my Congressman and ask him to insist that Centcom reveal the identity or at least the affiliation of these people.
It is a measure of the media's power and privelege that the victims themselves, Centcom, apparently feel an obligation to protect the identity of those involved.
I also have an Iraqi reporter friend who may be able to find out.
I will keep you posted.
You mean the "Papers" Ellsberg stole and then had Reston, Sheehan, and the crew dishonestly "edit" them?
And then when they were questioned about it, LIED and used treacherous legal "tactics"?
Making war against the United States, killing our soldiers, bombing our materiel and vehicles, and giving aid and comfort to the enemy actually still is called TREASON. These media personnel should be convicted of treason and executed.
Take the point: media Press should precede all military convoys in lead military vehicle as the point?
Should we also prosecute for Treason those that do no secure our borders in a time of War?
