Berg Father Says Bush is 'A Weapon of Mass Destruction' [in peacenik Email]
IOL.net ^ | May 20, 2004 | Mustafa Abdel Halim

Michael Berg, the father of an American civilian beheaded in Iraq this month, sent a letter to Stop the War Coalition in London, saying that US President George W. Bush 'ineffecive' leadership is a 'weapon of mass destruction.'

'We need to let the evildoers on both sides of the Atlantic know that we are fed up with war. We are fed up with the killing and maiming of innocent people, he said in the letter, emailed to IOL.net by the Coalition on Wednesday, May 19.

'We are fed up with the lies from our government about Nick's detention and we are fed up with the lies from our government about the reasons for this war,' said the saddened father.

In mid March, Nick Berg was held by the US mlitary in the Iraqi northern city of Mosul for no apparent reason, prompting his father to file a lawsuit in a federal court in Philadelphia.

He was released by the Americans on April 6 and disappeared April 9 in unknown circumstances.

Mr. Berg is quite welcome to go to Iraq and surrender. I will even pay his one-way ticket (he won't need the return leg).

I believe Nick would tell him the same.

Ironic that Mr. Berg is 'fed up with the killing and maiming of innocent civilians' when his son met his end at the hands of those very extremist folk who are the real killers.

Almost makes one wonder if he's even suffering grief; political opportunism apparently trumps all with him.

Those were my thoughts as well.

This quote from the article shows how out of touch with reality this guy is...

"I am sure that the others looked into my son’s eyes and got at least just a glimmer of what the rest of the world sees. And I am sure that these murderers, for just a brief moment did not like what they were doing," he said in the letter.

Now that blind fate has thrown this a$$clown into the spotlight, he's playing for all it's worth.

I'd say his motivations are about 50% self-aggrandizement, and 50% the money he's now getting from liberal sugar-daddies as long as he plays for them.

Call it a hunch.

Berg-The-Elder really brings to mind the question: were there Jews who stood up and defended Hitler even while the Nazis were stuffing ovens full of God's Chosen People?

Congratulations, Mr Berg. By giving encouragement to our enemies, by presenting such a stance, you are endangering others. By your actions, you raise the probability that these inhuman butchers will pursue more victims.

I hope you enjoy your imprudent public temper tantrum, which does absolutely nothing to honor the memory of your child.

He was already detached from reality. His reaction is similar to the Sen. Wellstone funeral, aka Democratic Party pep rally. Its all politics, even if its the death of your own son, anything to help the leftist agenda. Funny how the Left can't seem to MoveOn.

Okah, I held back last week when it could hve been said that the man was grieving, but now he is seeking out leftwing groups to endorse with his hatred.

Michael Berg, look in the mirror if you want to know why your son was beheaded. YOU taught him to be the way he was. YOU believed that the Iraqis weren't harboring terrorists.

Yeah Michael, and we're fed up with losers like you not accepting the fact that your son perhaps wasn't the fastest hound on the track mentally and then you blaming your shortcomings and his on the president of this nation during a time of war.

This piece would better have been entitled "Berg Father is 'A Weapon of Mass Idiocy!'

Berg father says: "And I am sure that these murderers, for just a brief moment did not like what they were doing," he said in the letter."

Just damn! This guy is totally and completely out of touch. I feel terrible about what happened to his son. In fact, as an American, I feel enraged. I always will. But to think, even for a second, that the murderers "did not like what they were doing" is just asinine. It is naive. They enjoyed doing it. They indulged in it.

The brutal worldwide murder of his son has completely detached him from reality.

He's unhinged. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the thing that is troubling me the most is that if he is even a secular Jew, he wouldn't desecrate his son's death like this. I don't know anyone, thank God, who would use their child's death to promote a political view. Especially before the poor guy is even buried?!

Any comments? I have limited knowledge of burial customs in the Jewish faith.

You've been here, long enough to know the burial customs of liberals. (see paul wellstone) Ideology trumps religion, evry time! (note the number of senators that won't obey the Pope) I'm sure his commie handlers told him something like, 'make Nick's death count for something and speak out'.

There's nothing I've seen in any of his pronouncements that has any connection to the Jewish faith. I've neither the training nor inclination to analyze him, but "unhinged" strikes me as an accurate diagnosis. I can understand why Islam Online would use his snippets, but the press should forget about him, the fact that his son died doesn't make his pronouncements credible.

Other than the terrorist, Mr. Berg is the other most-responsible for his son's death!

Brainwashing him with Love-Not-War, Love-Thy-Enemy and Hate-American garbage!

Mr. Berg and his son were the Terrorist Best Friend, the father is quoted.

Well, Mr. Berg, you're Iraqi Friends found out your son was Jewish or they had reason to believe he was a US spy!

Either way, Mr. Berg, YOU are far more responsible for your son's death than anyone other than the one that cut his head off!
