Freep mail us when you are coming.
You deserve a gold star for providing us with a *worthwhile* presentation! :-)
Will do. Am coordinating with visit from Brother/kids from Oklahoma City. who will also be going to DC. He was at Pentagon a few years ago in AF.. Another FReeper may be with us also. Trip planned for end June ~ mid July time frame.
Yes, lots of pictures... lots & lots..
:)
We spread a blanket on the beach and sat in total darkness until lift-off. The beach was showered in bright light and I was *stunned* at how many people were there once I looked around during the take-off. People were stunned to silence and only started applauding minutes later.
Truly a God-given sight.

Thank you! No spelling errors? All that cracking of the whip (by you) around here must be paying off. :)
You forgot Booing the Boy Scouts....oh yeah, they already did that.
How cool that you both were there together!
I've often wondered how many people on the beach the night that .45MAN and I went would somehow cross paths one day since people travel for miles to see such a wonderful sight.
I enjoyed this post so much, Aqua! Having lived in DC for six years while my dad was stationed at the Pentagon, I once knew the city like the back of my hand. Whenever friends and relatives would visit we would do the "monument tour" again. But I did not know any of this information about the Washington Monument.
There have been new monuments added since I was last there and jkphoto and I are looking forward to spending a few days of our vacation there this summer. It's been over 35 years since I've been back to DC.
Thank you, sistah, for this very interesting post today. May God bless and guide America and those charged with keeping her safe and free!
Good morning, all. Have a wonderful day across the fruited plain!
Hope you have a wonderful trip there this summer.
psssst...take lots of pictures. :)
There's no chance of me clicking after reading that disclaimer! :-)
LOL! Will do. It's so nice having my own professional photographer to take on vacation with me. ;-)
You left out the Bush-bashing contest LOL!
I love these history threads!
I didn't know about the Laus Deos on the Washington Monument.
I was there on a class trip.
I didn't make it to the top though.
Over here!
Your very own personal photographer...and one of the best in the west! lol....sorry
