I was going to go to a thread that was trashed and weird, and then start posting odd rants to myself.
Like: "You're ppuke, you're miserable, you make even babies feel the urge to purge. You're an annoyance to existence."
With the response, "No, no I'm not! You're scaring me, Stop it! I'll tell!"
And "Go ahead an tell, I'll pull your mind from your skull and devour your soul!"
And back n forth and such for a few posts before hitting teh abuse button.
I got told that this would be amusing, yes, but sometimes the guys have much more on their hands than to take time to laugh sometimes.
Which in turn got me thinking about making a thread, possibly in the smoky backroom, where the mods could go and vent for a few seconds, delete the stuff afterwards, and feel better for having vented.

The Destroyer of The Clays enters our arena! Ahh, but I fear al Clayda is not destroyed, but lurks still
in hopes of victory over freedom even now.
I must remain ever vigilant, along with all the anti-al Clayda forces.

(Back on topic) Enjoyed the fascinating story of you and your mom in DC. Did you all take a train there?

If anyone can defeat the al-Clayda contingents, it is you, Noble One..:))

Yes - I took the train to D.C., and many times growing up, living on the East Coast of Florida.
Took it to summer camp in the mountains at age 9 - to visit my married sisters in Miami and in South Carolina - to go to Parris Island - visit grandparents, etc.

That's the way I pictured it...right up the Eastern Seaboard.

Don't laugh, but when one traveled then - even by Greyhound Bus - a lady (young or old) wore a hat and gloves and stockings!
Packing and dressing is so much easier these days..:))

And always a dress. Remember the one time that my mom and I took a train from Jacksonville to Memphis where my dad met us and took us on home to Tulsa after we had spent three weeks in Florida with my sick grandmother. Had to go buy a new navy blue dress with white buttons for the train trip.
To: Aquamarine
Yes - dresses only.
It was really hard for me growing up in Florida where dress is casual and comfortable, and then going to South Carolina where The Dressing Rules WERE Something To Abide By - - silly things like white 'only after Memorial Day,' when it was 85 in December and January in Florida!
Seemed so silly and rigid and well - dumb...
Color is a state of mind and time and emotion - not driven by a calendar or the weather.

These day you could grocery shop in a bathing suit in Florida and no one would even notice.
I've been known to go grocery shopping in my lil town here in the mountains in my houseshoes (beige suede moccasins) and still felt overdressed! Oh yeah, things have changed alot over the years.

Which brings me to the question. What ever happened to our Captain of the Mobeus? I think of him often and wonder.
