Subject: May 19th-Mark your calendars
It has been calculated that if everyone in the US did not purchase a drop of gasoline for one day, and all at the same time, the oil companies would choke on their stockpiles.
At the same time it would hit the entire industry with a net loss of over 4.6 billion dollars which affects the bottom line of the oil companies. Therefore May 19th has been formally declared "Stick it up their a***' day and the people of this nation should not purchase a single drop of gasoline that day.
The only way this can be done is if you forward this email to as many people as you can and as quickly as you can get the word out. Waiting on this administration to step in and control the prices is not going to happen. What happend to the reduction and control in prices that the Arab Nations promised 2 weeks ago?
Remember one thing, not only is the price of gasoline going up but at the same time arilines are forced to raise their prices, trucking comapanies are forced to raise their prices which effects prices on everything that is shipped. Things like food, clothing, building materials, medical supplies, etc. Who pays in the end? We do!
We can make a difference. If they don't get the message after one day, we will do it again and again. So do your part and spread the word. Forward this email to everyone you know.
Mark your calendars and make May 19th a day that the citizens of the USA say "enough is enough."
Anybody else get this E-Mail?
Are they talking global numbers when it comes to oil sales? Because I come up with 1.679 trillion dollars a year in sales they say American oil companies get. Thats roughly 1/6 our total economy. A little far stretched to me, or maybe I am wrong.
In fact, I'd bet the rush to buy early or late will make gas lines in a few places, giving oil companies an excuse to raise the price by a few cents.
Sounds like a one day boycot is a dumb idea.
The problem can be fixed by getting various governments to agree on one flavor of gas instead of dozens. Then retailers would have the option of shoping for the best deal. Gas in Phoenix is about $2.30, only because we've got a unique blend that only one or two companys make.
60 % of the fuel we use is domestic. Is May 20th "Shoot yourself in the foot day"?
no one buy gas that day but everybody buy at least one commerative caylume light stick...
It's called supply and demand. They have the supply, we have the demand.
The only way it changes, is when one or the other goes up or down. Simply re-arranging your demand date by one day has NO EFFECT. Now, if you and supposed millions abstain from buying gas for a month, then you might see a reduction in price due to a glut.
Get a more economical vehile, or cut back on your other expenses, of get more income, because the price will likely only rise again.
This is NOTHING compared to the sacrifices Americans made during WWII. Suck it up and support the country's war effort, and things will get better, though it may take some time.
It remains impossible to convey the idea of economics to a liberal.
How much is taxes?
In Canada...we pay $0.50 a liter
and $0.25 in taxes...for a total of $0.80 /liter
converted
to American sizes
Gas $3.00
Tax $1.00
I've received that same email three years in a row but it's always a forward from other people. It's a pointless boycott; people will simply fill their tanks the day before or after. I bought a hybrid 3 years ago and won't need a fill up until mid June anyway.
The extra nickel is a SALES TAX on the whole thing
A tax on a tax
Our lefties are crying for REBATES
WOW!! You only put gas in it every three years!?! Just kidding....
Get real fool, this is the oldest piece of false lying crap on the net.
"WOW!! You only put gas in it every three years!?! Just kidding...."
That would sure be nice, but no...I would guess that I've put gas in it 18 times in the last three years, give or take a fill up.
I got this email too. Too bad there was no way to single out the foreign oil specifically.
