Globe caught with pants down: Paper duped into running porn photos
By Herald staff
Thursday, May 13, 2004

The Boston Globe was reeling yesterday after graphic photos of alleged sexual abuse of Iraqi women by U.S. soldiers turned out to be staged shots from a hardcore porn Web site.

``This photo should not have appeared in the Globe,'' editor Martin Baron said in a statement. ``First, images portrayed in the photo were overly graphic. Second, as the story clearly pointed out, those images were never authenticated as photos of prisoner abuse. There was a lapse in judgment and procedures, and we apologize for it.''
The ``lapse'' came after City Councilor Chuck Turner and perennial pot-stirrer Sadiki Kambon called a press conference in the wake of the Abu Ghraib prison scandal to display more purported abuse photos. Turner claimed they came from ``a very legitimate person'' but admitted they hadn't been authenticated. Kambon said he got them from a representative of the Nation of Islam. Neither Turner nor Kambon returned calls.

This figures.
The NY Times who employs plagerizers, owns the Boston Glob which also employs plagerizers and are now pornographers.

Given their day-to-day content, I can't see that a little pornography is much of a departure. In fact, better to look at bare skin than one of their editorials.

Media Schadenfreude and Media Shenanigans

The Boston Globe was reeling yesterday after graphic photos of alleged sexual abuse of Iraqi women by U.S. soldiers turned out to be staged shots from a hardcore porn Web site.

They believed they were real because they wanted to believe they were real. The photos were provided by a member of the Nation of Islam. What is not mentioned in this story is that they likely came from the arab press which ran such photos on the front page.

World Net Daily discovered the hoax and it was confirmed by the US Government. The US Embassy in Cairo asked the arab press for a retraction. I do not know that it ever came.

If the media wasn't so intolerant as to exclude conservative news sources, they would have been alerted to the issue. WND even brought up the subject at a White House press conference this week. There is no reason that the media did not pick up on the story other than bias.

The writer at the Boston Herald acknowledges the World Net Daily report. The Boston Herald's gloat over the Boston Globe is well deserved.

This explains why Bostonians always seem so out of touch with reality, most notably their two Senators.

The truth was out there long before El Globo got ahold of it.

But they just can't help themselves in their eagerness to discredit the Army and by extension, Rummy and W.

Sadiki Kambon is always calling in to talk radio programs, and frequently raises valid points from the other side. But this time he was wrong, and caught in the lie. Last night on the local talk show Sadiki called in and said the photos were authentic. He said he will stand by that until someone can prove that they are not authentic. Talk about arrogance. He also said he got them directly from the Nation of Islam. I have never seen the talk show host so upset with any caller. Sadiki has lost all credibility in Boston.

"...City Councilor Chuck Turner and perennial pot-stirrer Sadiki Kambon called a press conference...

What in the world led the Globe editors and reporters to believe that 2 low-life small potato wannabes like these would have inside information on a scandal halfway across the world?

PS - Nice tagline. "Hey CNN ... No blood for ratings" was a G Man original after the controversy over their Baghdad coverup :>)

You're correct. In fact, I saw those photos last year, posted on a newsgroup. They were so obviously faked and/or non-American "soldiers" that I am [farther] astounded at the dishonesty and stupidity of the press.
