A report from Reuters:
Iraq Car Bomb Kills Eight U.S. Soldiers
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Nine U.S. soldiers were killed in attacks around Baghdad Thursday, eight of them when a car bomb exploded just south of the capital.
The deaths took to 533 the number of U.S. soldiers killed in action since U.S.-led forces invaded Iraq 13 months ago. About 125 of them have been killed in April, the bloodiest month for U.S. forces in Iraq since the invasion.
The car bomb went off just south of Baghdad near Mahmudia at about 11:30 a.m. (0730 GMT), the U.S. military said in a statement.
"Initial reports indicate that eight U.S. soldiers were killed and four were wounded," it said.
The soldiers were all from the 1st Armored Division and the wounded were flown to a Baghdad military hospital by helicopter, it added.
Shortly before dawn, a U.S. soldier was killed in a rocket-propelled grenade attack in eastern Baghdad, a separate statement said.
With just weeks to go before the United States hands over sovereignty to Iraqis on June 30, U.S.-led forces face a growing insurgency.

How did a car bomb get close enough to our troops?I asked the same question about the boats that got close to the oil platform? Why weren't they blasted out of the water? I'm sure there aren't too many Iraqi pleasure boats floating around at this point in time.....

Prayers going out for the friends and loved ones of our fallen and wounded 1st Armored Division Soldiers, and fallen TF Baghdad Soldier. God bless and protect our warriors, civilian, coalition, and native allies! ~ * ~
REGIMENTAL PRAYER Almighty, merciful, and loving Father, you are the one who hears all our prayers and grants our petitions. We ask you to remember, as we do, the tremendous sacrifice made by those who went before us. They have given their lives so that we might live and breathe freely. We ask you to receive them into your hands. Father, give us the strength and wisdom to learn from their example, to uphold freedom and life at home and around the world. Keep us vigilant as we guard the frontiers of freedom. Give our leaders the wisdom and the strength to lead well.
Grant all of us courage and confidence.
Be, for all of us, troopers, a wise counsel in keeping peace and a strong shield for us against our enemies.
Oh heavenly Father, give us the determination that the peace and freedom won at such a high price be lasting!
Father, hold all of the troopers in the palm of your almighty hand and protect them in the shadow of your wings. Amen. Adopted from the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Regimental Prayer. ~ ~

Thank you, RTC.
Baghdad: "Four killed, one killed, two killed, five killed, three killed . ."
There really is a simple solution to all of this.
The president will have to risk his political career to do it though.
SIMPLE SOLUTION:
- Impose 24-hour curfew on the entire country of Iraq. No food or water - no more convoys of food and medical supplies to the very animals killing our troops. Stop all politically-correct aid to the mujahadeen.
- Kill on-sight anyone seen carrying a weapon.
Problem will be solved in less than seven days.
