Rep. Jim McDermott, Washington Democrat, yesterday did not say the words "under God" as he led the House in its daily recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Rep. Pete Sessions, Texas Republican, accused Mr. McDermott of "embarrassing the House" and proving that "he and those like him stand more for the liberal left than they do for our friends and neighbors."

Whenever I repeat the Pledge of Allegiance I make sure to speak VERY loudly on the words "under God". So I will continue to endeavor to make up for this Dim congresscritter.

If he is up for re-election, this could only help him. Any sign of rebellion - treason, atheism, sodomy, infanticide - energize his base.

This is Patty Murray/Maria Cantwell country.

Perhaps you forgot ... this is "Bagdad Jim" McDermott, the guy who went to Baghdad and announced that Saddam Hussein was more trustworthy than George W. Bush, and later claimed that Saddam's capture was staged and timed by Bush for political gain. He's also claimed that Bush wants to be emperor,

He makes the news often, and always as a leftist rebel. Here are just a few. Do a FR search yourself.

My point is that there is no "innocent" explanation for anything this creep does. He gets his votes from the "hate America first" crowd, so that's who he panders to. This is just more of the same.

You'd think he would LIE about honoring God, just to get elected.

Uh, no. He represents Seattle. To get elected, he needs to hate America and love mother earth.

If his loyalty to Country is greater than his loyalty to God; SO BE IT.

IOW, you're okay with a politician, as long as he is more anti-God than anti-American.

"Why is it on moral issues the libertarians always seem to be right in there with the atheists, queers, anti-American traitors, Democrats, Communists, and McDermotts of this world."

Simple. Because they are more anti-God than pro-American.

Just when you think Democrats have hit rock bottom....I saw this last night and could not believe it.

His website, where you can post a message to him, is: http://www.house.gov/mcdermott/contact.shtml

Also, his DC phone is 202-225-3106 and fax is 202-225-6197.

I posted a note, telling him was an embarrassment he is to the DemocRAT party and to people in Washington....

Hmm.. I guess. My grandparents omit the "under god" when they say the pledge, because that's the way they were taught as children. I don't hold it against them.

On the other hand, I'm sure it's part of this guy's agenda to omit it.

As for me, I think the pledge sounds just fine either way.

POSTING SINCE APRIL 28, 2004.

Baghdad Jim is an embarrassment to the state of WA too. How I wish he would be defeated in his next re-election bid. What a wonderful present to the state of WA!

How I wish he would be defeated in his next re-election bid.

Won't happen, they've gerrymandered the worst of the worst of the liberals into his district, and that makes it possible for a Republican to get elected in one of the surrounding districts, even though it hasn't happened much lately.

The very best thing the media could do with this story is to ignore it entirely. Baghdad Jim's counting on the media to go ballistic on this, and turn out even more voters in his hippie district. Believe me, if any Republican ever had a serious chance of getting 45 percent of the vote in that district, he'd have to be so damn RINO that he'd make Arlen Specter look like Rush Limbaugh.

The center of Seattle and some of its surrounding neighborhoods are beyond hope. I'm glad to have a Jennifer Dunn from an adjoining district, even if we have to sacrifice one House seat forever.

"Remember when the USSC convenes, part of the Oyez Oyez includes "may God have mercy upon this honorable court".

That should be amended to read: "may God have mercy upon this no longer honorable court four their miserable unconstitutional and stupid decisions".

It's not the people of Washington that keep reelecting McDumbott, it's the people of his district. He represents the "Central District" (primarily Blacks, immigrants and assorted minorities) and the Gay community. Unfortunately many of them love the jerk, and there's virtually no chance of replacing him with an American.

Our only hope is that his little ploy of leaving "under God" out of the Pledge of Allegiance may upset some of the religious Blacks. Then again, they can usually be counted upon to put their Democrat allegiance ahead of God and country, no matter how bad the Democrat candidate. That (D) behind the candidate's name sadly takes precedence over everything else.

Well, this whole incident does reveal one thing.

In pledge debates, there have been those who have said "If you don't like 'Under God' in the pledge, then just skip over it when reciting us and leave the rest of us alone!"

Many of those people are now saying that this is an outrage. Thus, they have proven themselves to be liars.

Carol Cassady is running against him again, and she's great. I agree with an earlier caller to KVI - I think he knew perfectly well what he was doing. And did it for media attention before the election. The lefties will go ape. (LOL Well, they ARE apes, and will continue to act so... ;)

Speaking of the ape-man, Jim "Darwin" McDermott was once created equally (by God) until "Bagdad" Jim lowered himself to an ape to spite God.

I say, to disown GOD for a THEORY would leave everything to chance. I choose God.

BTW - Speaking of Darwin, just Yesterday I parked next to an Isuzu Trooper (another BIG-BAD SUV!) and noted two political statements attached. There was both an anti-Bush bumper sticker and a Darwin emblem on the rear door. I approached the store as two strange looking fellas skipped along and gingerly hopped into the Trooper. Can you guess what persuasion they were?

Can you say fruitcake? Mukilteo has been in-filth-trated by the sexually dis-oriented! Yikes, don't drop your keys...just don't drop you keys!
