In remarks being reported throughout the Arab world Tuesday morning, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton blasted the Bush administration as a threat to peace in the Middle East, going so far as to accuse the President Bush of endangering the lives of U.S. troops.
Sen. Clinton delivered the unprecedented attack in an interview with the London-based Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat on Monday, with newspapers from Tehran to Islamabad picking up her harsh words almost immediately.
Typical was the coverage by Tehran's news agency Mehr, which quoted Clinton as saying that "the U.S. is trapped in the quagmire of Iraq."
"Referring to the Bush Administration policies as arrogant and insolent," Mehr said, "the wife of the former U.S. president further added that Bush is not willing to admit his mistakes in Iraq, the grave mistakes that have endangered the lives of both the Iraqi people and the U.S. servicemen alike."
The former first lady said that Bush's "mistakes have also threatened peace and stability in the region."
In comments that could only encourage the Iraqi insurgency, the top Democrat complained that "the United States was in trouble because it could not abandon Iraq, nor provide enough manpower to run the country, nor gather world allies willing to provide the necessary assistance for the gigantic task," according to Mehr's translation.

This will be shown the Jewish community. It'll hurt her there. Bit by bit, the Dems are shedding many of their key supporters. It's a slow process of erosion, but it's happening. If the major media would give them their due scrutiny, the Dems implode faster.

Bush Policies Endangering Mideast Stability: Hilary Clinton
BEIRUT (AFP) -- Former US first lady Hillary Clinton said the "stubborn" policies of President George W. Bush's administration were endangering stability in the Middle East, a daily reported Monday.
The New York Democrat senator told the London-based Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat that the Bush administration had not been "frank" with the American people concerning the human and financial costs in Iraq.
Clinton said the Bush administration did not have a plan for Iraq and did not have a full understanding of the situation there.
She said the United States was in trouble because it could not abandon Iraq, nor provide enough manpower to run the country, nor gather world allies willing to provide the necessary assistance for the gigantic task.
She described the Bush administration as "stubborn and arrogant" for refusing to admit its mistakes which were endangering US soldiers, Iraqis and stability in the Middle East.
Clinton said the June 30 deadline for handing over sovereignty to the Iraqis was a "last chance" not to be missed.

At the very least, I wished someone would slap that conniving (un postable expletive) upside the head hard with that broom of hers.

They are using her as a tool. They wouldn't even let her speak in their countries, but now are perfectly willing to broadcast her remarks to the discouragement of all who would stand with us. She is aiding the enemy, and I hope she never recovers from what she said. Maybe we should make her the new ambassador to Iraq, and drop her off in Fallujah.

I think what I hate most about b!tchin& about the situation in Iraq is the lack of any ideas concerning a better solution. Definitely the crux of the matter. What other choice are we offered besides surrender? More dead bodies here at home, civilians, Americans, in office buildings? America does not want the surrender of freedom that must necessarily come with continuing to permit the pirates of the Middle East to prey upon us. The call to be weak in the face of terrorism is cowardly and wrong.

The media has failed miserably in its role of fully informing America.
