I just don't think we should stoop to their level. I think best to keep our counterdemos on the up and up. I'm with you, U.S. Those who applaud lawlessness and thuggery are a disgrace. There is simply no excuse. When union thugs beat up some anti-Clinton protesters in Philly some years back this site was wall-to-wall outrage for months! Talking about free speech and stupid, lazy union bums, etc. To cheer the same when it is supposedly for "our" cause (and the "cause" here is what, exactly?) is rank hypocrisy. Inexcusable!

The scuffle over the flag at City Hall was accompanied by chants of "Lindsay's a Red."Say what you will about the rest of the counterprotest/riot, but how can anyone disagree with this part of it?
That said, I didn't live down here in this neighborhood back then and I was very young when it happened, but I do have vague recollections of it.
You might remember that more recently, a little over a year ago, construction workers held a Support the Troops rally around the WTC site: Pro-USA Rally

I watched that rally last year. Sedate and respectful.
I was very young, too and living in the South at the time. However, my family were NYers and they laughed at how Lindsey couldn't control the city.

Even as a little kid, I knew what a loser dork he was!

Off we go,into the peace group yonder.
Looking for hippies to chase.
There is one, tearing our flag asunder,
get him boys, step on his face.
Sorry, that’s all I remember
