Michael Moore's "Secret" Movie About the US Army in Iraq

From Michael Moore's web site:
[...]
The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not "insurgents" or "terrorists" or "The Enemy." They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win. Get it, Mr. Bush? ....
[....]
I currently have two cameramen/reporters doing work for me in Iraq for my movie (unbeknownst to the Army). They are talking to soldiers and gathering the true sentiment about what is really going on. They Fed Ex the footage back to me each week. That's right, Fed Ex. Who said we haven't brought freedom to Iraq! The funniest story my guys tell me is how when they fly into Baghdad, they don't have to show a passport or go through immigration. Why not? Because they have not traveled from a foreign country -- they're coming from America TO America, a place that is ours, a new American territory called Iraq.

I actually liked Michael Moore's first documentary, "Roger and Me," but that was more than a decade agao. Today I read the NY Post and was in shock and disbelief at what they quoted from his web site. But, then I checked and saw it on the Michael Moore web site, and I have posted it above (see first paragraph).
Then I saw this other line he has posted:
"I currently have two cameramen/reporters doing work for me in Iraq for my movie (unbeknownst to the Army)."
And I thought: Gee, you put it up there on a web site, and you're sure no one knows anything about this? Frankly, I think he is full of himself here. Are people really flying in and out of Iraq as he describes? I doubt it. So, why does he say such things?
Finally, I get no pleasure out of posting this, and if it's yanked, that's OK with me. I just can't believe the level of insensitivity some Americans are showing during a time when American's bravest men and women are risking their lives.
It's really heartbreaking to me.

Be fore warned that this is one of those things that the more it is hated and despised, the more hype and publcitiy it receives. He didn't put the little note on his site to get his followers excited, he wanted those that find it disgraceful to get excited.
It's best to not be surprised by Mr. Moores continued milking of his cash cow of hate mongering and ignore the whole thing.

Moore actually ripped off Ben Hamper's experiences in 'Rivethead.' The original voice from Flint, MI that Moore cultivated as a testimony from the trenches and took on as his entry film. Only a genuine shop-rat could concoct the scenes that animate the film. Moore has only viewed life from an 'all-you-can-eat' buffet at his local scarf'n'barf. Read the book - it is wa-a-a-ay better than Moore's movie.

They never go thru customs, a military ID is all u need. I was in the Navy for four years, went to dozens of counties without a passport, never went thru customs, not once. Geez, do a little research.

You must remember that anything MM states is already tainted, as he is a virulent Socialist and any party that he supports here is because they are closest to his Socialist beliefs.
The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not "insurgents" or "terrorists" or "The Enemy." They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win. Get it, Mr. Bush? ....
As to his comments about them being "They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, ..." not insurgents or terrorists; he's long ago ventured into Jane Fondues la la land. They are terrorists!
I currently have two cameramen/reporters doing work for me in Iraq for my movie (unbeknownst to the Army). Oh sure, uh-huh!They are talking to soldiers and gathering the true sentiment about what is really going on. They Fed Ex the footage back to me each week. That's right, Fed Ex.
Hey, now just how dumb, does he think the troops really are? Does he really think someone is not with them when the film is being edited or that it is not being screened?
Who said we haven't brought freedom to Iraq! The funniest story my guys tell me is how when they fly into Baghdad, they don't have to show a passport or go through immigration. Why not? Because they have not traveled from a foreign country -- they're coming from America TO America, a place that is ours, a new American territory called Iraq.
No! They are coming from a secure departure point and since there is no government in place to do immigration there is none there coming to a secure departure point.

Rivethead rocks. Moore thought he was Hamper's "mentor" because he published him in the birdcage liner he used to edit. Hamper mocks the clinton out of Moore when he describes his visit to the auto plant where Ben worked, pulling up in his Toyota and hanging around the equipment for half an hour or so without touching anything oily or icky. The mockery
may have been unintentional but I doubt it.

They are talking to soldiers and gathering the true sentiment about what is really going on. What he means to say is that with creative editing and outright fudging, ala Bowling for Columbine, he will twist the true sentiment expressed by the soldiers to fit his own preconceived talking points.

"I currently have two cameramen/reporters doing work for me in Iraq for my movie (unbeknownst to the Army)." This makes me sick. Mr. Moore is putting people in harm's way so that he can capitalize on his next movie. If he wants to know what is really happening, he should go to Iraq himself and see it firsthand. How does he know his people are even reporting the truth? This is not only exploitation of workers for personal profit, it is blatantly dishonest.

True, true, true. I was a shop-rat myself long, long ago.
The other funny thing is that Hamper's view of his relationship with GM sounds way more like Bob Seger singing "I used her, she used me, neither one cared. We were getting our share." than it does Moore's portrayal of the Noble Proletariat exploited by Evil Management.

When the government passed on charging Hanoi Jane with treason, treason ceased to be a crime in this country. John Lindh Walker is proof of that. Sure, he's in prison but he's still breathing.
