PROJECT ANNOYING EMPATHY FOR TERRI SCHIAVO
FreepinForTerri (a.k.a. Jacque from Texas)

Posted on 04/22/2004 1:43:00 PM PDT by FreepinforTerri

Terri Schiavo has not had visitors in 24 days. Terri has also been held prisoner in a single hospice room, unable to go outside for 1,473 days. Seeing those numbers really hit home with me. So I called Governor Bush. I said, "Terri Schiavo has not had visitors in 24 days. She's been imprisoned in her room for 1,473 days. She's a prisoner and she's in danger. Have the Governor or DCF take guardianship of her." Tomorrow I will call the Governor's office again and say, "Terri Schiavo has not had visitors in 25 days. She's been imprisoned in her room for 1,474 days. She's a prisoner and she's in danger. Have the Governor or DCF take guardianship of her." And so begins Project Annoying Empathy. Everyday I'm going to call the Governor's office and remind them how long Terri's been mistreated. I'll remind them that although they will allowed go outside today and they may see their loved ones, Terri will not. She's not a patient. She's a prisoner. She's in danger. She need the Governor's assistance to reclaim her rights as a human being. I am going to call them everyday. I've said my thank yous with all my heart to the Governor for Terri's Law, but there's a clause in that law for guardianship. He needs to use it. Who knows what stunts Michael might pull next. Any of you that want to join me, come on! The Governor's office number is 850-488-4441. Yes, this is a tad ridiculous, but so is allowing a disbled woman to be locked up like a criminal. It might not accomplish anything, but I can't just continue to do nothing. Maybe the numbers will strike a chord. Either way, it will remind the Governor's office daily that today is yet another day that Terri is being held hostage. <>< FreepinForTerri a.k.a Jacque From Texas

Exodus 20:12 ~ "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the Lord your God gives you."

Not applicable in a case of marriage. Terri's husband has no biblical mandate for honoring his relatives-in-law. He may be a bad person, but it is God's purview to judge. Only He knows what is in the heart. To presume to know the mind of God in this matter could be a very large sin.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that in Your hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. We know that You are sustaining this mother's child until the time You have for her release. We know not Your ultimate purpose, but we know the love and commitment for Terri's welfare that You have placed on so many hearts. We praise You for every thought and every prayer and every work on her behalf ... again I pray that You would gather all of these efforts together and fashion them into the key that unlocks the door to her prison.

If our eyes are upon the works of man, O God, we are a people most discouraged. A man who promised to love and cherish his wife is one who wants to end her life. Search his heart, Merciful Father ... draw him, by the Power of the Holy Spirit, to repentance, lest his two children come to the knowledge that their father has sought the life of his wife. And yet his own children run freely to their parents, while Terri cannot. Work in the heart of George Felos, suicide advocate, who leads the charge for her death, yet Terri is not dying.

None of this makes sense, O God, if we look only to man. But we know that the grip over this mother's child is satanic, for the power of governments has not been able to break this hold. Again we pray that we might weary that one judge ... that we might have that effectual, fervent prayer ... that we might call upon our Righteous God for mercy, that You would set Terri free and set her before her loving, and grieving, family. Sustain her parents ... encourage her brother and sister ... give Godly wisdom to her legal team ... give Terri a voice in the media, for if she is silenced, O God, we have consigned our disabled and elderly and infirm to an early grave. We pray for her ... we pray for them ... we pray for us, in the Name of Jesus, Amen ...

So you STILL consider him married?

Checkout post 82 here,

...and in particular, the two 1992 'bullets', the 1992 photo
taken for the jury's consideration, and the 1996 and 1998
'bullets'

NOW do you still consider him married?

I smile when I see your posts. Regardless of what's happening, I smile . . . because I am reminded Who is in charge, and that we are not alone, that **Terri** is not alone. Now I'll read it and join you in that prayer. I know what you'll say -- but thanks so much anyway! You are very precious to me.

You know the mind of God, WT, because He reveals His mind in His word. Honor your parents ... love your wife ... cleave only to her ... love one another ...

Hi, W. I'm wondering if you have been following Terri's situation for a while to know all that has unfolded over time. If so, I'm wondering why you chose this aspect (guardianship to ethically-challenged HINO vs to her family) out of all the aspects of Terri's case. Why this scripture, when there are so many that apply here? What of all the wrongs (including the mysterious physical assault on Mar29) committed against Terri? Are we to turn our backs?

I read post 82. I don't see any interpretation of it other than there are folks trying to use Terri because they are pissed at her husband. While he might be a turd, he is A) married to Terri and B)judgable by God only about this issue.

One thing I don't think anyone has considered is Terri's wishes. We don't know what Terri's wishes are. There is at least a equal probability that she asks God daily to take her home and out of her misery.

If she were in this fix in an earlier part of the century, she would have passed away already. Only our current high technology is keeping her here.

I used to think that those so passionate about Terri's life were afraid of state ordered death. I don't think that any longer. I think it's more hatred for Michael than love for Terri.

Sorry.

I don't know the mind of God; I only know the spirit of God and His law. And I wonder about the motivations of many here.

The thread caught my eye. I have read other threads but only commented on one long ago. Like I posted to another, I wonder the motivations of some here.

Good for you, Jacque! I hope your annoying persistence pays off, like it did for that woman in the gospel who pestered Jesus so much that He finally healed her daughter.

this is a tad ridiculous, but so is allowing a disabled woman to be locked up like a criminal

Not ridiculous at all. Thanks for thinking about Terri in such a caring way. It's amazing that you've calculated the number of days she's been shut in (imprisoned) and without visitors. I hope it will be effective when you call the Governor's office. I've called and emailed there myself. I just wish the family would get a new lawyer. I really think their present lawyer doesn't know what she's doing, because this has dragged on for so long. Why can't they get a new lawyer? Why hold on to one that hasn't helped Terri in any way?

I do believe that commandment applies just as well to mothers-in-law and fathers-in-law. That is how both my sons-in-law, who are clergymen, understand it.

I worry that the governor could get testy

Don't worry about it. He doesn't personally answer the phone, but has a secretary who takes his messages.

Who are you to judge the compassionate thoughts, prayers, and actions of other FReepers?

Who died and made you god?

I think it's more hatred for Michael than love for Terri.

You couldn't be further off the mark. Terri is our only concern. If we have hatred for Michael (and I don't - I rarely, if ever, think of him), it's only because of the way he's been "taking care" of her. He wants to kill her. Do you understand that? She's an inconvenience for him. He's already moved on with his life. He has another woman, and new children. He would like nothing more than to have this inconvenient woman who lingers and lingers, die. And the courts (in this death-crazy country) agree with him.

Don't mind me, I was a little concerned about possibly going too far. I have a lot of respect for Gov. Bush. He's good people.

Gen 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

They didn't have feeding tubes, or all the other machinery back in the day. In the days of the old testament, when you killed someone....they stayed dead. Michael Schiavo is commiting adultery, so all bets are off.
