U.S. sees Syria 'facilitating' insurgents

Syria is "facilitating" the movement of foreign fighters into Iraq and helping supply them with arms, according to U.S. military officials with access to intelligence reports.

The sources said the reporting has not been clear on whether hard-line Syrian President Bashar Assad is involved directly in ordering the aid. But they say he has much to lose if Iraq becomes a pro-U.S. democratic country.

They (most likely) have Saddam's WMD's, they're "facilitating" the movement of Islamists into Iraq and supplying them with arms, they've been funding and harboring terrorist orgs for decades.....

They need to be utterly destroyed, and quickly.

Lots and lots of cruise missles should be sent to Syria. On the heels of that aircraft carriers should start showing up in the gulf near Syria.

Damacus could be reduced to rubble, that would be a good thing.

Assad is a minor player, far too insignificant to waste time on. He should be told that we will "inspect" his country NOW or he will be DEAD tomorrow. No delays, no excuses.

Mr. Assad also realizes that Washington is limited in how it can react. The U.S. military is overcommitted globally. It would be politically difficult for President Bush to launch military strikes, thus opening up yet another front in the war on terrorism. "The Syrians know America can bark a lot, but what else can we do?" said one military source.

NONSENSE. Check this link. Most of our Air force and Navy and 2/3s of our army are doing nothing. Also, just tell the Israeli's it's open season on Syrians. Plus, there are a lot of Kurds in Syria, turn them loose. Syria is a lot less stable then they know. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/global-deployments.htm

Even if they do have Sadaam's WMD we should send them a lot more and to make sure they get there quickly we need to send them by air.

The burden against Damascus. "Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, And it will be a ruinous heap. Isaiah 17:1

This is a yet unfulfilled prophesy....emphasis on "yet".

I hear they are going to reactivate another division. Of course, we are running about 30% above recruitment records so we will have no problem staffing it despite the stupidity of certain politicans wanting to bring back the draft. There is NO need, nor want, for a draft.

If we put some serious pressure on Syria, how does Iran react?

I think we have to put pressure on Iran to see the Syrian Reactions.
Iran supports Syria with Free Oil and weapons.
There are confirmed reports that Iran gives 400,000 barrels of crude oil to Syria annually.
Stop Iran, then Syria will be stopped automatically!

Just level all these cock roaches whenever need be. Then move onto the next den of vipers. What's so tough? Someone has to be paying for, supplying, giving comfort, turning a blind eye...those people must pay too.

There is a very easy way for us to pressue Syria - Turn the Kurds into a Northern Alliance type force - provide them with special forces and precision air support and we can hurt Syria until they cry uncle.

Hopefully badly so we can waste the Mullahs too. At the root of all Islmaic Terrorism is Terhan, not Mecca. We will have to waste their butts sooner or later so hopefully they will give us an excuse.
