I can see how a dead moose would be a larger than normal problem. Larger, say, than a dead raccoon. It takes a bigger hole than I personally would care to dig.

I am gonna guess moose range 800-1200 pounds... about the size of my horse, maybe toward the lighter side if it was sick enough to die.
Got a guy down here who keeps tigers... he asked if he could have my horses when they die. Maybe he should move to moose country.
