Email him....e-mail at
jimenezn@caller.com. Although it is my experience that journalists do not take constructive criticism well. They seem to only like it if you agree with them.
Mr. Jimnenez fails to understand that Iraq is not a democracy YET. And as always especially since Vietnam the press and media are unwilling to realize the consequences of their actions in the increase in the violence against our troops and the undermining of resolve and morale both at home (USA) and the field of battle. Plus their role in emboldening the enemy.

Excellent post and spot on.

Is the corpus Christi Caller a serious newspaper? Or a community coupon deliverer?
I only ask because the writing and editing skills of this article do not seem to be on a professional level.

Mr. Jimenez states he served in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive. He is presumably aware then of the distortion by the media of the outcome of that battle. Tet was a nearly complete destruction of the vc in South Vietnam. But the media presented it to the American public as the opposite - a defeat for American and allied forces. This ultimately led to America's abandonment of millions of our S. Vietnamese allies to ultimate deaths. Mr. Jimenez is presumably aware also of the terrible slander by Mr. Kerry against Americans and others who served in Vietnam (it, too, contributing to that same abandonment of millions of our Vietnamese allies to ultimate deaths.) Mr. Jimenez: where are these huge travesties in our present, news listings? Where?

Here's what I wrote:
Franks is right. You are wrong. Legitimate criticism is far different from the thinly veiled anti-americanism, sedition, and treason that passes for reportage in this day and age. And spare me the whining about how tough you have it. Nobody feels sorry for you because you people are blood-suckers, one step lower than lawyers.

"...can't get it through their thick heads they might be doing something wrong."To them, wrong things are right so long as they serve the cause of building a socialist utopia. Historical "necessity," dontcha know. It's the same reason the NYT printed all those lies their Moscow correspondant wrote about the wonders of Stalinist Russia, the same reason Walter Cronkite lied to the American people about Vietnam night after night on national TV. Historical necessity.
Nothing will ever convince them that lying is a bad thing -- for them to do.

Since the majority of Americans do not trust the media to tell the truth, my question to reporters: "Are you ready to apologize to the American people for the lies you have told us?"

Hell no, they've already served up Jayson Blair as their sacrificial lamb. Better for one to die for the sake of the many, right? Especially if there's dirt on him.

Oh yes. The lib media loves to tell lies to try to ruin people (sometimes successfully, sometimes not) that do not agree with their politics, elevate the most disgusting degenerate liberal politicians, take the side of every enemy of America, and make celebrities out of the very worst people that our society has to offer. But don't dare call them on it or tell them that their views and actions suck. They demand complete docile cooperation.

Hell no, they've already served up Jayson Blair as their sacrificial lamb. Him and Peter Arnette, who landed another job with some British rag after his unceremonious firing from CNN and required 6 month leave of absence. His downfall from the Communist News Network was just a bump in the road. He had his fame and fortune, and he's still getting being overpaid to lie about what a terrible country America is. These guys are lower than scum.

To hell with them ~ keep calling them on their lies!
We are winning ~ the bad guys are losing ~ trolls, terrorists, democrats and the mainstream media are sad ~ very sad!

Letters to the editor 4-25-04 Caller-Times
Distorted picture
Ref: Nick Jimenez's column concerning Gen. Franks (Viewpoints, April 18).
During our recent invasion of Iraq, I served in a major military command headquarters with unlimited access to information resources that survey today's battlefield.
Every morning, Gen. Franks led a live video teleconference with his combat commanders and discussed the current situation.
News wasn't always good, but with the nearly omniscient view provided by our information-gathering equipment, it was very accurate.
In his press briefings I was amazed and reassured to hear Gen. Franks state with absolute accuracy the topics discussed in the highly classified teleconferences (minus some place names or specific numbers).
However, subsequent media coverage of those topics did not reflect reality. Quite frankly, media coverage seemed based on predetermined assumptions as much as on the facts provided by Gen. Franks.
Media coverage of the Tet offensive in Vietnam demonstrated how press reporting can twist a great tactical victory into a strategic defeat. This lesson is not lost on Gen. Franks, who has proved great devotion to the freedom this country represents.
Don't expect him to appreciate a press that distorts reality and editorializes instead of reports. He is a great man, but he's also human. And the facts are on his side.
