FAILING THE USS COLE - A GALVIN OPINION INVESTIGATION

Sept. 22 2000, bin Laden said he would attack U.S. ships - Oct 12 2000 he struck the USS Cole

The Galvin Opinion has compiled a series of resources that recount the events and political repercussions arising out of the Oct 12, 2000 attack on the USS Cole in Yemen. There has been some discussion on what the Bush Administration should have done about the Cole despite the fact that the attack occurred during the Clinton Administration. But, the information below shows how Osama bin Laden was identified as the prime suspect, very quickly, after the attack while the Clinton team was still in office.

They didn't attack innocent civilians, they attacked our Navy. AQ was at war with us.

Why did Clinton/Bush/[Condi] say we weren't at war with them?

Well that settles it once and for all...it's Bush's fault!

Seriously, will the mainstream press ever admit that Clinton's foreign policy and response to terrorism amounts to treason?

X42 had 3 months to do something about it. I guess he was too busy stealing furniture and silverware from the White House and gathering more money in exchange for his upcoming January 19 pardons.

I wonder if the public even remembers the USS Cole...

The left has trained the public well in the art of forgetting whatever hasn't been shoved in their faces 24/7 for the past few months.

"response to terrorism "

Well terrorism is an attack on innocent civilians. This was a military attack on the US Navy. It was war.

Military rules of engagement during clintoon yrs. was ridiculous. I understood we did not have the ability in a timely fashion to even stop the attack on the USS Cole due to the rules of engagement.

It appears that our esteemed former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, is the one that bears the responsibility for our warships visiting Aden to take on fuel (it sure wasn't because Aden was a legendary liberty port). Djibouti lies a couple of hours steaming from Aden, and Djibouti in the 1980s was visited by our warships for taking on water and fuel. The port of Djibouti was - for what it's worth - under the protection of the French military garrison in Djibouti. I guess it was sucking up to the moslems by Albright that cost us 17 sailors and a VERY expensive overhaul on one of our top-of-the line warships.

Clinton is scum on so many different levels. What can you say? He'll never get slapped like he needs to. What he needs is to meet the Mother Of All Flyswatters...
