Bush leads Kerry in Florida poll
The first Mason-Dixon Florida poll since the primary shows good news for President Bush, who has survived six months of Democratic shelling in pretty good shape.
The poll says he leads John Kerry 51-43 percent, but that Kerry's disapproval rating has doubled - the result of new TV attack ads. The poll also shows support for Bush's handling of the war on terror and the Iraq war, but not on health care or the economy.

Must be that 8% who thought the pollsters were asking if they preferred Buchanan over Kerry.

I would like to see Kerry and the Democrats not just beaten, but crushed and humiliated in this election, and their so-called message repudiated in its entirety.

We Florida folk will stomp Kerry into the ground, come election time.

This is amazing. Moveon.org has been hammering Bush just about every night for months in the Tampa area.

Isn't this the 2nd poll today that has Bush leading by 8 points or so in Florida. If so, that bodes well. The state by state polls are looking good for Bush over the last few days.

I don't care what the reasons are for this - whatever means to a necessary end.

Tell the conservatives in the panhandle to keep on voting regardless of what the liberal media say. Had NBC kept its mouth shut instead of prematurely (and purposefully) calling FL for Gore, Bush would have won decisively and there wouldn't be any recounts.
To: Vermonter
They sure have, but the staunch Republicans here are ignoring it.

TRUE! I remember it vividly.

I've heard this said before. Does anyone have access to the vote totals from these counties in 1992, 1996 and 2000? That way we can compare them to see if there is indeed a huge dropoff in 2000 from the premature media call. And yes, of course, factor in any growth in the overall population of the counties over that period.

And some environmental group that has been complaining about the mercury rules. Listen to those ads and you'd think Bush was spoon feeding your kids liqud mercury. AM970 is/was running it at least once an hour last week.

Maybe Moveon.org is actually hurting Kerry. It should. They are a bunch of socialists, and any good, God-fearing American won't have anything to do with a bunch of socialist - and thusly John Kerry.

poll bump and a damn good one!

Orlando I-4 corrodor site. We will take the Kerry scalp. We are normal people here, not like the south Florida liberal communist.
