The minute I heard about Clarke's comment speculating she'd never heard of al Qaeda I thought to myself that there was most certainly documentation in the public record ...

There is. It's a television interview where she said that Al Queda would be the Bush administration's #1 terrorism concern. You may have known of it already.

The word on Clarke is he is arrogant, almost maniacally so. He knows the right answer. Everybody who disagrees is either an idiot, or an ideologue, except for him of course.

That is the big issue on Clarke. The government is give and take, people with different views. If 9-11 happened on Clinton's watch, you would bet that Clarke would be saying he was the lone beacon of truth that could have prevented it if he was listened to at the time.

He's arrogant to a fault. The way for people to attack him is not on his truth telling, or his political interests, attack his intellect, and his judgement.

The republicans on the committee should basically say that he was incompetent. That is what will get his goat. He will brush aside the liar thing, his ego and ability though are his achilles heel.

This guy is just droning on and on and on.
****

Maybe that is why the cables have cut away. I remember yesterday that my brain could not grasp what he was saying. I knew he was reading something (in English), but my brain could not take it in - an amazing sensation.

So far all I know is, Clarke is a disgruntled former government employee.

An excerpt from Clarke's letter was read yesterday... if it wasn't in the hearing room, then it was on Fox.

So he resigned, rather than being fired, as he was going around saying? This is a bombshell!

Just saw Amb. Ginsberg on Fox....spouting Bush's team was too focused on 'State sponsored terrorism' to see the forest for the trees. What has happened to Ginsberg? He 'used' to be in the Bush corner. He talked favorable about the WOT in the past. Evertime I have listened to him lately, he is doing some sort of Bush bashing.

Former Clinton White House terrorism czar Richard Clarke is preparing to tell the Independent Commission Investigating the Sept. 11 Attacks this week that the Bush administration failed to act on a Clinton administration plan to attack Osama bin Laden.

And in a "60 Minutes" interview set to air Sunday night, Clarke blasts Bush for doing "a terrible job on the war against terrorism."

But just a year ago Clarke was singing a different tune, telling reporter Richard Miniter, author of the book "Losing bin Laden," that it was the Clinton administration - not team Bush - that had dropped the ball on bin Laden.

Clarke, who was a primary source for Miniter's book, detailed a meeting of top Clinton officials in the wake of al Qaeda's attack on the USS Cole in Yemen.

Scott Ritter got a $400K 'grant' to make a movie, didn't he?

Sad to think how cheaply some folks will sell off the country. :-(

The airlines were extorted for donations to the DNC and Clinton Campaign. They were told donate or we ruin you by enacting all these recommendations. The person that algore commissioned to do that special report worked as head of a customs unit in Miami. She was one of algores' "friends",and she was anti-police,anti-authority, absolutely incapable of doing the job thoroughly. Gore got her out of the treasury Dept, and outside of having real short hair, she was a hottie with a tennis player -like figure, blond, and attractive. Some credentials!!!!!!

First question. What qualified you to hold such a Vital Post.????

His resume, prior to joining Clinton.

Mr. Berger has varied prior experience in government, having served as Special Assistant to former New York City Mayor John Lindsay; Legislative Assistant for former U.S. Senator Harold Hughes (Iowa) and Congressman Joseph Resnick (N.Y.); and Deputy Director of the Policy Planning Staff, U.S. Department of State, 1977-1980. During his tenure at the State Department, Mr. Berger was involved in a wide variety of international economic, security and foreign policy matters.

Prior to his service in the Clinton Administration, Mr. Berger practiced law with the Washington law firm of Hogan & Hartson (1973 - 1977, 1981 - 1992), where he was a partner and headed the firm's international trade group.

Exactly what qualified this Man to be running National Security ?
