THOMAS LIPSCOMB STORY
Reporter Thomas Lipscomb wrote the story which is linked above in the NY SUN. It has the potential to end the Kerry presdential run.
I had a great conversation with Lipscomb a short while ago. This story was too hot for some of the majors. But Lipscomb assured me it is well-sourced and is dead on.
Two witnesses have placed John Kerry at a Kansas City meeting of the hierarchy of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War in November of 1971. At that meeting, they actually took a vote about assassinating United States senators. It was called "The Phoenix Project" and was the brainchild of Scott Camil. Kerry spokesman David Wade has denied Kerry was at the meeting.
The two witnesses who place Kerry at the meeting are Terry Du-Bose and Randy Barnes. What is very interesting is that Barnes is a big Kerry supporter and the head of Missouri Vets for Kerry. As a supporter, Barnes would certainly not make up a story that would hurt his candidate. He told Lipscomb of Kerry's attendance at the meeting.
Think of the implications. If the mainsteam media and major news networks do their homework, they may discover that a man who wants to be president was at a meeting discussing the possiblity of assassinating United States senators. That is a conspiracy. Instead of the White House, does John Forbes Kerry belong in the Big House?
Get on the phone to newsrooms and shame them into covering this story. A major mainsteam journalist returned by email in about a half hour after I sent him info. He finds it "interesting." Let's see if pursues it. He is notable enough, that if he does the story, all hell will break loose in the presidential campaign.
Note: Lipscomb is not a right-wing ideologue. He did a recent story defending Kerry over his medals. He also recently did a story in which he went after George Bush's National Guard service. He told me that he expected to find a drunken rich kid with coke up his nose. Instead, he discovered that Bush actually did more than make up the meetings he had missed and he honorably fulfilled his duty. And Terry McAuliffe knows it.

"Yes, he voted "no." But if he attended that meeting, his very attendance was part of a conspiracy. If he wanted nothing to do with it, he had a duty to inform authorities about a potential plot to kill senators."
You are quite correct on this point. This should be pursued.

I do not want the " Wicked Witch" to be brought out and dusted off at the Convention That is her plan though.
She knows better than to run in 2008 against incumbent VP Rice.
This year is her only chance.

I certaintly find it easy to believe he was there, and I do believe he has engaged in an elaborate attempt to hide this fact. What i am not so certain about is whether a bunch of guys blowing off steam, then deciding to do nothing meets the standard for a conspiracy.
I certainly think that failure to report the instigator should disqualify Kerry for the presidency, and the cover-up just adds to the offence. Most interesting is the date alleged for the written resignation. A couple days before the meeting? That's too cute. Kerry obviously knew about the plan and wanted to make sure he could deny knowing about it.

Don't for a minute think that the DEM candidate for president can't change after the convention. There are NO absolute rules.Yes, that is known as "The Lousenberg Exception", the dims candidate can be replaced at any time until election day if his poll numbers are bad enough. :(

we must hold our fire until Sen. Heinz is technically nominated ... I agree with holding withering fire right now, because the election is 6 months from now, and because Kerry is shooting himself in the foot pretty well. But, I don't think the end of the DEM convention (which I assume is the event you consider as marking "technically nominated") necessarily marks the winner as the person who GWB will run against.
The DEM party holds to no rules, and will switch Kerry out in a heartbeat once it is prevailing belief (stoked by media propaganda) that Kerry cannot win.
See Toricelli/Lautenberg. Expand it to the presidential level. Either they get away with it, or there will be, ummmm, well, errrr, lots of angry Democrats. Use your imagination.

I have a question for any legal types out there; who has standing under Amendment XIV to sue to prevent Kerry from assuming office under the United States? Assuming there is at least a defensible case he gave aid and comfort to the enemy, could I, as a citizen, bring suit? If not, who could?

"This one won't go."
Why? It may not effect his base support, but I think middle-America will find something disgusting about a man who was even a part of a group that would vote to assassinate American politicians. This will also lend more credence to the argument that the VVAW was more than just a dissenting organization...and was actively participating in undermining American security. At the very least, it is one more brick in the wall.

Kerry was involved in a conspiracy to kill Senators

Thank you I didn't know that. I thought after a candidate secures the National Nomination, it was all over. I didn't realize they could change Candidates after the Convention.

If Kerry was there, he had an obligation to inform the authorities that a potential crime may take place.
Your post raises an interesting possibility. Suppose, just suppose, that he did inform the authorities.
Suppose, in fact that was his job.
Bear with me, now.
Look at his background:
--Skull and Bones at Yale (primary recruiting ground for the intelligence community)
--A ridiculously brief, absurdly medaled, stint in Vietnam. It looks like the "fix was in" to get him all those medals.
--Then he returns home as a major player in the Vietnam Veterans against the war. He lies about atrocities, throws away phony medals. (Establishing his "bona fides" with the anti-war movement?)
--Remember that at that time both LBJ and Nixon were convinced that foreigners were funding the leftist groups and recruited FBI agents to infiltrate them. Why not use ex-military men to infiltrate the VVAW?
Perhaps that is Kerry's dirty little secret--that would freak out the leftists who support him big time.
If true--and if Hillary knows about it--the man will never make it past the convention.
Just a hypothesis--about a very strange man with a very strange history.

Four years ago I was working on a novel that sadly went unfinished. The scenario may be playing out right before our eyes.
Hillary Clinton is preparing to take a coronation at the convention after Kerry falls. She has had to spend no money. There are no soundbites from other RAT candidates attacking her. She would only have to run a very short campaign. It is her dream scenario.
