Italy: Sicilians are hit-men of choice
NEW YORK, March 8 (UPI) -- Organized crime families have given up on U.S. hitmen as unreliable, and now rely on Sicilian-bred killers, The Times of London said Monday.
Dozens of young Sicilians are believed to have been sent from towns in the Palermo area to the United States to help shore up the ranks of clans such as the DeCavalcante family in New Jersey and the Bonanno family in New York, said Roberto Centaro, the head of the Italian parliament's anti-Mafia commission.
"'Soldiers' from Sicily are considered less likely to end up collaborating with police," he said.
Centaro spent last week in New York discussing organized crime with the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Department of Justice.
Investigators told him they have learned from telephone taps new Sicilian arrivals are discussing attacks on U.S. investigators and judges.
Antonino Giuffre, a leading Italian Mafia turncoat said the Trapani area of Sicily is the home training ground for the Cosa Nostra's code of honor.
"In America, there isn't the same attachment to values -- there's no respect anymore," Giuffre said.

As an earlier poster pointed out, this is not new. The "Pizza Connection" of the 1980s involved many Mafioso imported by the five families straight from Sicily. With the young generation college educated and not wanting to continue in the family business, it only makes sense.
La Cosa Nostra is nearing its final death. Criminal activity is too decentralized these days and the Italians just aint producing little hoodlums anymore.

Is this for real? LMAO. When asked for comment John Kerry promised he would sign an immediate EO directing all government assassinations be carried out by hard working American button men.

You think you're saddened? I went to Hitman university and now have thousands of dollars in student loans! Be glad you took the less expensive internet classes.

God Bless you FE. I have good news for both of us though. I just got an E-Mail from India. They are hiring recent American Hitman graduates to outsource back to the US. They realised that it would save a lot on travel expenses and we can blend in better as well.
I'll forward your name today.

I have only kown one Sicilian. I met him around 1970 while we were in college. He was so handsome that literally all the girls were after him. He was also a star baseball player.
He definitely had a different personality. He was so kind hearted that at first I thought it was phoney. He did have one characteristic which made me uncomfortable. Whenever we would have a conversation, he would get too close to you. I would constantly find myself wanting to back up.
I met him again about 7 or 8 years ago. He was no longer handsome, actually looked a little like Marlon Brando.
Now here is the shocker. He was a Southern Baptist! How he got to be one I am not sure but his entire family was.
