I have frankly never been so pessimistic about Israel's survival. This is not because of some pipsqueak alliance of Middle Eastern thugs and their juvenile delinquent cannon-fodder; but because of the growing hostility toward Israel among powerful elements in the United States and Europe. Skeptics here at FR often ask if our national interest and Israel's really coincide. They do, for our very survival is tied to theirs. Israel's ultimate enemies, those who could really destroy it, are also the ultimate enemies of America. For us as Americans, they are an enemy within.
Today, we have a candidate for President of the United States, John F. Kerry, whose wife helped finance an organization that has openly endorsed Palestinian terrorism, as well as the killing of American soldiers in Iraq, and which, of course, calls for the destruction of Israel through a fictitious "right of return" for so-called Palestinians (to what? The land owned by their ancestors' absentee landlords before 1948?).
This organization is International ANSWER, which also received financial support from Saddam Hussein in the form of legal fees paid to Saddam's American lawyer, ANSWER co-chair Ramsey Clark.
We have a media establishment that systematically distorts and demonizes Israeli actions, conceals the barbarous nature of Israel's enemies, and praises the agents of these barbarians when they spew their propaganda on American campuses.
Popular culture and the academic community have turned the demonization of Israel, one of the most monstrous big lies of all history, into the default position for cultural, academic, and political conformity.
Thirty-three years ago, John F. Kerry went to Paris and met face to face with representatives of the Vietcong and North Vietnamese. He then endorsed the VC/NVA position in testimony to the US Senate. He accepted enemy propaganda as fact, and called for the surrender of South Vietnam to the Stalinist terror-regime from Hanoi.
That surrender was eventually achieved, in 1975. Millions died in the killing fields of Socialist revolution and tens of millions live in slavery to this day as a result.
The pop-culture/academic/media axis has gloated about this triumph ever since. The "touch-feely," outwardly naive, and exquisitely sensitive liberals of song and legend are no such thing; they are monsters, pitiless killers and instigators of mass murder.
The gloating from this element will be far greater if their campaign to destroy Israel succeeds and it will go a long way toward their ultimate goal of destroying the United States as a sovereign entity.
We let Kerry and media liars like Walter Cronkite and the other VC collaborators get away with their crimes, and they moved into a position of social and cultural dominance, one from which it has taken twenty years to even begin to dislodge them.
I think we should plan now to hold the destroyers of Israel, and the instigators of attacks on American soldiers, to the strictest possible accounting.
Julius Streicher was lawfully hanged for inciting the massacre of Jews and Gypsies during World War 2. Those who lie, who initimidate, who bribe, who riot in the streets in support of the present-day terrorists and Jew-killers will be no less guilty, and I suggest that a future tribunal should hold them to the same standard of justice.

The greatest threat to Israel's future is posed by the Israelis themselves. The figures I've seen indicate that Israelis murder 50,000 unborn children a year via surgical abortion, which is an astronomically high rate - if you extrapolate that number of surgical abortions for a nation of 6 million people to a nation of 300 million people [the United States], you get about 2.5 million surgical abortions per year, which is well in excess of twice the number of American surgical abortions [about 1.2 million per year].
Israel is disappearing because she is murdering herself. The fact that Israel has a marxist economy doesn't help matters, but even a marxist economy can't do anything if there are no people there to populate it in the first place.
However, if it's any consolation, Western Europe is doing precisely the same thing. The birth rate in Italy, for instance, is down to 1.2 children per woman, and, barring some unforeseen change in the Italian social structure, Italy, as we know it, will cease to exist in a few decades.
In fact, if present trends continue, Europe will be a Muslim continent in about fifty years.
Ah, yes. We all know that nuclear weapons are the infallible defense against every possible threat to a nation state's existence. Just ask the Soviet Union, which had thousands of them. You may have to write to Howard Dean for their address, however, since nobody else seems to know where they are these days.
I happen to know a little something about nuclear weapons but I don't know how to deploy them against terrorists who can mix freely with one's own population, or against a global propaganda campaign of unprecedented scope and ferocity, or against economic and political pressure that tightens every day.
What do you propose as a profitable nuclear deployment against the current threat? Israel can't threaten to nuke the UN, it's in New York (at least for now). Berkeley is admittedly a tempting target, but it contains only a small fraction of the Paleo-apologist hordes and none of the evil media lords. A single building like, say, the Guardian offices, is unsuitable as well because of the risk of collateral damage. The same is true of Ed Asner's townhouse.
Israel can crush its enemies militarily, but the threat is not military.
