Some 9/11 Relatives Idiotarians (Attacks on Bush ads...)
LittleGreenFootballs ^ | 3/5/04 | Charles

I’ve become somewhat inured to media bias; I still see it, but it no longer causes me to undergo severe outrage. Hey, you can’t stay outraged 24 hours a day.

But rarely, if ever, have I seen such naked bias and political axe-grinding as in this AP story: Some 9/11 Relatives Angered by Bush Ads.

“It makes me sick,” said Colleen Kelly, who lost her brother Bill Kelly Jr., in the attacks and leads a victims families group called Peaceful Tomorrows. “Would you ever go to someone’s grave site and use that as an instrument of politics? That truly is what Ground Zero represents to me.”

Context, anyone? “Peaceful Tomorrows” is a far-left group of useful idiots, who often show up on stage at International ANSWER rallies, sharing the podium with representatives of groups connected to the very terrorists who murdered their relatives on September 11. I have sympathy for their loss, but absolutely no respect for their naive and suicidal political beliefs.

The article also quotes the head of a firefighter’s group that has endorsed John Kerry. No bias here.

Harold Schaitberger, the firefighter union’s president, said: “We’re not going to stand for him to put his arm around one of our members on top of a pile of rubble at Ground Zero during a tragedy and then stand by and watch him cut money for first responders.”

I wholeheartedly approve of President Bush using images of September 11 in his campaign ads. It is completely legitimate. The man was President when we were attacked. It’s part of his record.

The real scandal is how the media immediately shied away from the images of that day, treating the American public as if it were an excitable infant who had to be kept away from anything that might cause it to become angry.

UPDATE: Harold Schaitberger, the firefighter union’s president quoted above, actually stumps for John Kerry. (Hat tip: Andjam.)

The Democratic Party is clearly very scared of the issue of September 11, and will do and say anything to keep it off the agenda.

UPDATE: And the media elites are also mobilizing to put the worst possible slant on the Bush advertisements. I count no less than a dozen wire stories with a negative bias currently at Yahoo; and that’s just from a quick glance.

Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me
It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it every day
Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right

Anyone but a moron knows that the news media have rolodexes. Someone to call for every opinion they want to print. If they want a Catholic heretic, for instance, because it's time to undermine the Church, they call Frances Kissling or Father McBrien. If they want to attack Pat Robertson, they phone someone at People for the American Way. And so forth.

You can reconstruct what happened. The DNC called or faxed all the media about the Republican ads that were about to be released, and told them they wanted something good to counter them. The Daily News, hillary's most slavish servant, called Colleen Kelly and said, "We need a juicy quote for our front page." Colleen obliged. Why not? After all, it's good publicity for her, too. More publicity for her, more contributions for her peacenik organization. And never mind if she has to dishonor her own family to do it.

No one used her brother Bill's name for political purposes until she brought it up. She is a pathetic left wing b$%^& who uses her brother's name to spew her garbage.

The bias from the lamestream media is getting to the point where it is almost constant. Fortunately people get their news from many outlets now and many voters are educated to this bias and are offended by it.

-"“It makes me sick,” said Colleen Kelly, who lost her brother Bill Kelly Jr., in the attacks and leads a victims families group called Peaceful Tomorrows."

"Peaceful Tomorrows" is a 'peacenik' group that intentionally or un-intentionally strives to undermine the interests and security of our United States of America.

This organization is HYPOCRITICAL!

They are alligned with an even more hypocritical and anti-American organization called "GLOBAL EXCHANGE"

I will give you an 'insight' on GLOBAL EXCHANGE:

Under their website link for "HUMAN RIGHTS" this is what you get for CUBA:

"In our Cuba Campaign section, you can access the latest information on the U.S. embargo against Cuba, particularly its restrictions on sales of food and medicine and on travel there by U.S. citizens; find out how to get involved in efforts to normalize relations between the two countries; and read about the Cubans' dramatic advances in sustainable development as they survive, and even thrive, despite the odds."

NOT ONE WORD about the repressive incarceration of political prisoners and the totalitarian regime in CUBA.

What I think is disgusting is the ungreatful prostituting of the death of her brother in order to advance her own political agenda.

I like to know something about those relatives: Did they cash in on those who died on 9/11? Or are they upset they did not get any money?

You have to wonder if any of these people actually saw the ads. The words tacky and insensitive were universally used to describe them.
Last night, I surfed between the ABC/NBC/CBS and the ads were covered the same way.
The ads were not shown, but, " discussed " by the anchors and correspondents.
Then images of the burning and collapsing towers were shown in the background. Since the ads were not shown, the impression the media wanted to convey, was that the ads showed graphic images of planes flying into buildings and towers collapsing.
What was tacky and insensitive is the way the families have been used and manipulated by the Democrats and their media toads.

They were big war protestors as well. Check out this thread about another guy who is complaining about the ads.

It also contains a link to the story about him and other Peaceful Tomorrows members being arrested at an anti-war rally last year

Rush did some great material on this today.

Katie Couric repeating VERBATIM what some of these relatives said about the Bush ad. Or vice versa. Hard to know who is feeding who...

-"They were big war protestors as well. Check out this thread about another guy who is complaining about the ads."

These 'rapid response' tactics, where the RATS are employ to now answer every Bush action, is identical to what the Clinton people used back in '92 and '96, and the Bush people better learn real quick to EXPOSE THEM for what they are PURE HYPOCRITES and POLITICAL WHORES!

This is the most egregious and blatant example of media manipulation we have seen, certainly since the infamous and idiotic "gravitas" press echo performance. The objecting victim relatives that allowed themselves to be coached and cynically used by a party that clearly fears the issue, are the real victims here, as they have been used and made fools of in a disgusting and virtually traitorous display of Democrat political charades. This will not only backfire, it may even consume the skunks that conceived it in the DNC war room.

I heard a little of Rush's show. I think that he was saying that the women all said exactly the same thing and that the media covered the women's rants so early after the ads aired that it was impossible for them to have seen the ads, reacted and responded that quickly. These rants were all prompted and prepared in advance for the first ad that Bush put out that mentioned 9/11.

Incidentally this was exactly what I posted yesterday on one of the threads.
