Jewish religious leadership was responsible along with the Roman govt. If left alone, the everyday Jew would have followed Jesus and his teachings. Who could not after seeing the many miracles that occurred. But Annas, Caiaphas, and the Pharisees couldn't have Jesus live and retain their power. The missing point is that Jesus was a Jew, the Messiah, and he came to this earth to die so that all who believed would be saved spiritually. That was the whole purpose so that all believers didn't have to pray in a temple or face someplace in the hinterlands for morning or evening prayers. Believers no longer needed blood sacrifices that God never wanted in the first place. All people could pray to God for deliverance anyplace, anywhere on this earth. The only requirement is becoming a believer (John 3:16). Jesus was a Jew, his disciples, apostles with his followers initially being Jewish. Paul, a Roman Jew, converted Gentiles into believers while Peter stayed within the Jewish community to convert Jews into believers. Both of these men were Jews.

I just got home from watching The Passion of the Christ with my wife and I cannot find how anyone could view this as anti-Semitic. If any anger I could find from my viewing it was the brutal torture of Christ by the Romans and the cowardice of Pontius Pilate. Jews were represented as both good and evil in the movie whereas the Romans were nothing more than evil. As we all know, Jesus was a Jew along with his followers, his mother and Simon, the man who helped bear the cross with Christ.

I almost feel that the calls of Anti-Semitism about The Passion of the Christ were crying wolf. After walking out of theater, I did not gain any hatred for Jews.

Where is the "blood libel"? The film clearly depicts Jews sympathetic to Jesus. Sheesh, his entire entourage were Jews. Nearly every single original Christian was a Jew. The corrupt Jewish politicians were complicit in his death. Does any self-respecting religious Jew claim that Abe Foxman, Jerrold Nadler, Shimon Peres and Edgar Bronfman speak for all Jews? Does Al Sharpton speak for Black America? "Leadership" does not equal "All". Such paranoia is not worthy of the great state of Israel.

Also IMO Foxman and his ilk attempt to propagandize against Evangelicals with wild accusations of Christians who see this movie being compelled to fly into uncontrollable anti Semitic rages and committing violence against Jews...

Besides using his fear propaganda to open the purses of little old Jewish widows down in Broward County, Fl....There are those like Foxman and the JINO secular humanist socialist atheist crew...who seem to also hate Israel...They and their fellow travelers defend Arafat and the Palestinian HAMASCIDE bombings of innocent Israeli Jewish children as 'the fault' of Israelis...and lobby for a separate Paly state...and a weakened Jewish defense....They have to know in their heart of hearts (if they had any) what the ultimate result of such appeasement will be.....

One of their worries...imo...is the relationship that has formed between the nation of Israel and Evangelical Christians...who support Israel and who urge the President to also defend Israel...

Foxman and his ilk...propagandize both Jews and Evangelical Christians...hoping to cause a rift between the two...and exploit it...

Hopefully most Israeli Jews and those Jews still favorable to the survival of Israel and Israel's struggle against terrorism...are smart enough to see through Foxmans attempts to divide us

Hopefully when there is backlash from Jews against Evangelicals because of Foxman's propagandizing...that they will be patient enough to let the dust settle and be patient to repair any damage he and his ilk may have caused.....

In the end I believe this movie will strengthen individual Christians committment to their Lord Jesus and their walks with Him...and will encourage even more support for Israel ..the earthly home of our Lord and His people...and Jerusalem...the seat of His kingdom yet to come...
